It's one of those vast social upheavals that everyone understands but that hardly anyone notices, because it seems too ordinary: the long-predicted "cashless society" has quietly arrived, or nearly so; currency, coins and checks are receding as ways of doing everyday business; we've become Plastic Nation. In the tangled history of American money--from tobacco receipts to gold and silver coins to paper money and checks--this is a seismic shift. Time to pay attention.

Some of the brainwashing or mind-control exercises are being run through the VISA commercials where a man or woman who is paying in cash is looked upon as a doofus or dum-dum by the clerk and the other credit-card paying customers in line.

Complete government control of every electronic cent that passes your way. Sell something for cash today and odds are the government can never figure it out. Win on the tables and the government does not know.
Once you must use a card for every transaction, uncle Sam can do your taxes for you.

You use it for your buy in. You use it as your players card. Your wins become credits on your account. Article 31A, 2010 forbids the casino from accepting any bets not made on a Visa or MC.

Cash no longer exists. Upon the recall of all cash early in 2010, people were issued credits to their electronic card accounts up to $10,000. All cash in excess of $10,000 was taken, a receipt given and is subject to government money laundering and terrorism investigations with an unlimited time frame and very limited appeal ability.
