Roulette system

#1
As cover for blackjack, i started playing roulette. So for the last 2 times i went to the Casino, i played some roulette. Now, i play a "system" while playing roulette, and i know that most of you (myself included) believe that no system in the world can beat roulette. The problem is though, that i bought in for 200 dollars, and after about 6 hours of play, i am up to 1,200 dollars, (1,000$) profit using this system. Is it all luck and should i expect to lose all my money shortly?

My system will work as long as i do not lose 15 consecutive spins. I bet on 8 numbers each spin. I only have to win one time out of those 15 consecutive spins to come out ahead in that progression, and once i win, i start my progression all over again. My system is somewhat is a mariginale, (a big no-no i know), but the fact is that i'm up 1,000, and i think i will continue using this system because even if i do lose that money, it was the Casinos money. If someone is interested in knowing my system, and telling me if its actually a good system that can beat roulette, (which i HIGHLY doubt), then just tell me and i will gladly Pm you the system, and you can tell me whether its a winning system, or i am just another ploppy that believes he has found the winning system lol:rolleyes:

Well, yes and no. It is all just luck and you should expect to lose your money back eventually. That 15 spin loss will happen (possibly not soon, but you never know). But you are free to quit playing at any point. If you walk away now then you have a guaranteed profit. Any further play will just lower your expected profits. To continue playing would be like doubling down on a blackjack – there’s a small chance that you’ll win more money, but you’re risking a guaranteed win.

The people who will tell you it is impossible to beat roulette are basing their beliefs on the "mathematical certainty" that it is impossible to win betting into a situation of exponential decay. That is, the edge will eat you up if you play long enough.

There are others who are alive and well and doing quite nicely, using Labouchere cancellation methods or variations thereof. While any 10-year-old with a computer can "prove" that you will eventually lose, most don't really care, as long as it isn't today, tomorrow, or the day after.

For some good insights on how psychology and trends influence wagering decisions, see Lyle Stuart On Baccarat. A good read, and some interesting concepts.
Good Luck

Someone should run a simulation to try and figure out what the most likely duration of your lucky streak will be. I know there must be ways to estimate how long you can get away with it, even though it is "possible" your very next session will be over 15 consecutive losses. Maybe someone could figure your RoR if you play, say, 50 hours, 100 hours, 1,000 hours. But they would have to know all the details of your system.

After reading your post, I can say with reasonable confidence that you don't need any cover for blackjack. You likely don't have a long term positive expectation, and the casino is probably well aware of this.
