Is there Blackjack in Charlestown, WVA?
A friend just called me and said he was just told that they now have blackjack tables upstairs at the Charlestown racetrack and casino. Can anyone confirm this?

I have searched the Internet ans I can't find anything that says they reconsidered Blackjack after June 9th's vote. I talked with a friend of the guy who claimed there were BJ tables at Charlestown when he was there, and he said, "The guy is full of it!" So as far as I know, this is just a stupid rumor spread by a guy who doesn't know what he is talking about. His friend said that he said they were upstairs, but he didn't actually see them. That's a crock! And I was halfway celebrating the fact that I now only had a one hour drive instead of a three hour drive (to AC).

There will be BJ at several racinos in WV before the end of the year.It is quite possible some racinos have the tables up and are training people, but as far as I know, there is no gaming to the public at this time.

There was a thread on here somewhere that Wheeling was going to go online with table BJ in October.

Casino Games In West Virginia?
West Virginia is currently one of the States that does no have casinos. The do have four racetracks and it may not be long until they start offering casino table games. The Kanawha County Commission voted 2-1 to approve a resolution supporting the bid by Tri-State Racetrack & Gaming Center to add such games as blackjack, roulette and craps.
Kanawha is the last of West Virginia's four racetrack counties to vote on the issue this year. Hancock County approved the games for Mountaineer Race Track & Gaming Resort,. Ohio County approved them for Wheeling Island Racetrack and Gaming Center while Jefferson County, however, rejected the games for Charles Town Races & Slots

That is correct. I stopped by Charles Town on my way back from a trip several weeks ago and there were slots/ races only.

Maybe that guy can make complete sentences in his article. I don't even know what he is trying to say in the first couple sentences, but there is casino gambling in WV in the form of "racinos", race tracks with slot parlors...I've seen them with my own eyes
True, no table games, but he is correct with Ohio County (Wheeling) approving them. If I believe correctly, none of the WV sites has table games offered right now. October is what someone said here for Wheeling.

Finally, my wife called Charlestown Racetrack (Why didn't I think of that?). The track confirmed that the June 9 referendum rejected table games. They added that another vote will not come up for two years.
