They only recognized his disguise - the low-wage immigrant greencard worker they all loved - with impeccable ID. The real guy is a robber-pro-magna and it took him 6-mos to set it all up, and now he's vanished into nowhere. Probably the French Riviera, or Rio. About $5000/day for 200-days and not a chance he'll be caught. Recalc the EV. zg

Soboba Casino Robbery
Main Suspect in Soboba Robbery Arrested
By Sheryl Kahn
NewsChannel 3 | Aug 6, 2007 04:14 PM
The search for the suspect that robbed the nearby Soboba Casino in San Jacinto is over.
The Riverside County Sheriff says they arrested the main suspect, 25-year-old Rolando Ramos, at a hotel near the Los Angeles International Airport.
Ramos was a surveillance technician at the casino.
Police say Rolando Ramos planned the entire heist from start to finish.
And while he did finally get caught during the two days he was on the loose, they say he really lived it up.

Well, from his job at the casino, he figured out how to get the money out of the casino. The next step would be to totally vanish. This is the part I thought he might not have planned. And, sure enough...

Authorities say Ramos spent at least some of it on cocaine and prostitutes.
|
He should have been making his way to the French Riviera, or Rio, instead.

Yeah, no kidding!
Rule #1 when planning a heist: ALWAYS have an escape plan!
Hiding at a relative’s house a few miles away from the crime scene is not an escape plan. Applying for an emergency passport and staying at a hotel near the airport is not an escape plan. Illegally propositioning hookers and buying drugs off the street is not a good pastime when you are trying to avoid the police.
This guy planned and successfully executed a million dollar casino robbery, yet he couldn’t drive his ass three hours south to Mexico? He couldn’t even get out of LA? How far could any one of us get with $1.5 million and two days? What a tool. He deserved to get caught.

“And early Saturday morning, cops caught up with Ramos at a Gardena hotel fairly close to LAX.”
For those of you who don’t remember, the city of Gardena was a running gag on Sanford & Son. Whenever Redd Foxx had a little extra money to spend he would say “I’m taking you guys someplace nice, like up to Gardena.” The joke, of course, is that Gardena is only nice compared to Compton.
