Default What exactly is backcounting? and how to

I have a general idea that it is used when multideck games are already in progress and you are trying to get an accurate count having not been there since the start of the shuffle...

is this right? also how do you backcount?

No, back-counting is when you watch from the beginning of the shoe, and begin playing when the count turns positive.

Some people also call it Wonging. "Wonging in" is when you wait for a positive count to start playing. "Wonging out" is when you leave the table during negative counts. Backcounting often refers to doing both, but different people have their own variations.
