A 6/5 DOUBLE DECK game?!

#1
Maybe somebody can confirm this one way or another.

I was in Vegas most of last week, and right before I caught a cab for the airport I walked through O'Shea's and I could SWEAR I saw a double deck game that only paid 6/5/

Did I actually witness this, or did four days of card counting play havoc with my senses?

Didn't go into O'Shea's, but I did see some 6/5 shoe games splattered around town in different 'party pits', Sahara, IP, and Caesar's (Pussycat Dolls) for certain.

If you looked closer, you would have found that their 8, yes 8 deck shoe pays a whopping 6/5.
I recently heard from a VP player that if you are in search of 5/4 JOB, O'Garbage is the place.

I'm going to be crying for the rest of the day now.
O'Sheas, part of HET or better known as the Evil Empire, has earned a special place not only amongst blackjack players who know the difference between a decent and a horrible game but VP players as well. I do not know enough about their games but would guess they probably have some machines that pay better, but if there one single place in Vegas that has gone beyond normal effort to deserve to be boycotted by every single good, bad, novice and ploppy gambler, this is the place.

Just back from Vegas. The 8 deck game is 6 to 5. Also no even money on Blackjack. I looked at the game and said you got to be kidding. I also talked to the pit about the game. He said they are targeting a certain type of person. The place was full, all young under 30 and drinking. Waitress are very fast with the liquor.

Young, dumb, drunk and willing to lose their money fast. And someone seriously asked me once if I felt guilty when I found a weak dealer that showed their hole card?

MGM had 6:5 , 6 deck on the KA branded tables by the Entrance to the show. It was sickening. All the people waiting to see the show parked at the tables. Yet right around the corner $10 min 3:2 DS17 Late Surrender. Penetration is only 66% on any shoe games on the main floor. the high limit areas are the best bet.

Caesars, Luxor and Mirage also had some great games. Not to crowded for a three day weekend. They were very generous with Room comps as well. Must of been due to the lack of visitors.

Isn't Caesar,s part of Harrahs? They offer all the same crap games. Mirage has good games if you look.

Yes, Caesars is part of Harrah's, and you need to look for the good games, as they can vary from pit to pit. What surprised me more than the 6/5 games was the large amount of of CSMs. I think I saw all CSMs outside the high limit area at Bellagio. The thing I did like seeing was the fact that the CSM tables were mostly closed, and the few that were open weren't very busy.

At Caesars, would you be referring to the higher-limit games? Because the lower-limit $15 tables had horrible rules earlier this year.

All Harrahs 2 deck in Las Vegas are hit soft 17. No double after split. With one expecation which is O Sheas. That property is 6/5 for double deck. Hit soft 17. No even money on blackjack! :whip:

I am referring to the High Limit Tables. MGM had best rules for lower limit games yet bad pen. Its a trade off. They did allow mid shoe entry on the shoe game but not on single deck. Its something worth looking at if you are on the strip.

Luxor has a great little area ( black chip min ) but rules pen are perfect. Also, even at higher bets 1k they will not call out to the pit.

Mirage and Wynn have the best single deck rules and do not sweat the action unless you are varying your bets often.

If you are betting more than 300 in the main pit areas of any strip casino , the action will be call out to the pit. I encounterd several counters this past weekend who at the same time were so obvious that the pit crew including the dealers were smirking at them.

If you are a red chip player, you will have no problems playing the main pit areas on the strip other than less perfect playing conditions.

A week ago, MGM cut 1 1/2 decks, having a notch in their shoes, that is 75%, fairly good. You are saying that they now cut 2 decks. If so, they must have just changed this.
