Default I think my name/face has been faxed around the Boardwalk

Yesterday, I go to a Boardwalk joint I've only played twice before, for short stints (mediocre game), and last time was over 6 months ago. I sit down, and start betting 1 or 2 greens, randomly. About 2-3 decks in, count turns positive and after a winning hand, I parlay from 2 to 4 greens. Shuffle time. I couldn't believe it! I think I'm washed up in this town...

On another note, I'm at another house and find a dealer cutting less than one deck out of an 8 deck shoe. I wong in when the count turns + and by the time about 6 decks are dealt, TC > +4. I got killed. It hasn't been a good summer...

Hate to hear that for you 21...maybe you're just having a rough patch and the shuffle up was one of those "dealer showing off for his boss" situations. Keep at it.

good luck

I can't figure it out. Your action isn't nearly large enough for AC to be concerned or really even notice. The crowds and the NMS rule out the most aggressive forms of counting, and if surveillance is watching the green chippers the black chippers must be having a field day with them in the high limit rooms.

The shuffle order came from the floorperson, not the dealer's own initiative (do dealers ever decide to shuffle on their own?)

I just looked perplexed and continued to play into the next shoe.

AM - I'm just as baffled, especially considering I've played only a couple of hours at this place over the last year. Maybe the PC recognized from employment elsewhere, though he didn't look familiar to me.

Ahh, that does suck. I have never been shuffled up on personally, but thought I had either heard or read that some casinos "train" their dealers to look for APs and one of the measures is to shuffle up if they suspect it.

good luck

In SD games dealers shuffle on their own, and sometimes when told to also.
The only thing I can think of is that there was another counter at the table playing much higher stakes, that you didn't notice.

What you have to figure out is what their cue is to shuffle. In small casinos with pitch games dealers will sometimes count and preferential shuffle based only on the count, to ingratiate themselves with their bosses. In AC it's unlikely any dealer is counting or that anyone upstairs would care. Furthermore, shuffling a shoe doesn't take 10 seconds like shuffling a single deck does, and breaking a shoe to shuffle too often will hurt that table's drop. I also don't believe that the PC was standing there at one table counting, or that they are dedicating one surveillance idiot to counting one table because a known green chipper walks in.

So maybe it is your bet that triggers their shuffle. If so, you can have some fun with them, because you know what the count is and they don't.

Default Same thing happened to me in the same city.

I was still at Red Chip status (I'm talking one F'g nickle here people.) when I got shuffled and personnally ordered by some dude above pit boss level to only bet one circle. However, I know what happened to me. I was only CC'g a couple months and mainly in this casino. (The Sands. They closed a couple weeks after my incident and are currently receiving a nice shiny wrecking ball.) One of the dealers there negatively expressed how he knew that I was a CC'r. He was a couple tables down during the incident with no customers, looking my way with an ugly face. He ratted me out! He was trying to make a name for himself hoping to make a step up the latter when it came time for the Sands to close.

My guess is that someone was just trying to use you to look good in front of their bosses and it probably was not the dealer, unless...

Do you not tip at all. I recommend some conservative tipping system. A few dealers do know how to count but most wouldn't say much unless they were trying to make a name for them selves as I've said or they just don't like you for one reason or another (see Andersen).

I'm also going to perscribe a FOOT FETISH. Don't wear hats unless you are older and can really pull it off and don't wear sunglasses. Just look down--always! After one hour of it, you'll be cursing me; after one month of it, you'll be wondering???; and after one year of neck pain, you'll be praising me.

Hell, I just had to fill out a CTR a couple days ago and they may have gotten my SS# with photo ID but they didn't get me to look up. LOL--bastards.

I do tip when I'm winning. In this instance, I wasn't winning.

I wear a hat sometimes (I was this time.) On a bright summer, sunny day, I think it's natural to wear one. In the winter, I don't.

If they review the tapes, I believe someone is going to get called an idiot for shuffling on me. Guess we'll never know...

Default I throw a pink or red at them even when I lose.

I'm not saying that's why. Hey, I just though of another reason. My wife's always telling me I'm too paranoid when I talk about my sessions so let me try some of her logic:

Maybe the guy just was an idiot. Follow me here--maybe he just thought the yellow card came because of some sort of Fruedian slip. Like, maybe he wanted a break from dealing or was hoping they'd send him on break if they saw him F up???

Did he make any facial expressions at you or anything when he shuffled? Maybe your face isn't plastered all over AC databases.

Maybe you are just looking for attention. Maybe you are paranoid ! Or maybe you just made a story up for dribble on this board. Most of this post on this board are to far fetched to be taken seriously. You are to small of a fish for them. Give me a break.
