Default Best time to play in AC?

When is the best time to play in Atlantic City.

I've been there when most of the casinos were so packed that even if I wanted to sit I would have had trouble finding a seat, let alone wonging or backcounting. I've also been there when there were only a few tables open and the ploppies were crowded on 2 tables while 3-4 tables sat idle with the dealers just standing there, making backcounting worthless. When are some of the best times during the week to go to AC and backcount? Furthermore, which casinos are best for the backcounting approach as far as mid-shoe entry and open tables with seats? Or is it just hit or miss and I'm 0 for 2?

Weekday mornings, followed by weekday afternoons.

Regarding midshoe entry, it varies. Two biggest duds in my experience are Tropicana and Taj - both have been NMS for all $25 and up tables when I've been there and lower limit tables are pretty crowded.

The borgata is pretty good to go if you want to back count/wong. Many of their $25 tables allow MS entry. They also have tons of tables. Weekend nights are bad but during the week its not too bad. They also have 3 sections of blackjack. Main section by front of casino kindof. Usualy has a few $15 table but mostly $25 and up. Then if you follow that path towards the craps tables/3 card poker tables there are about another 10 tables. These are the lower limit tables. Half are $25 min. The other side ALWAYS has 1 $5 table that is 3 rows deep with people waiting to get on. Plus 1-2 $10 tables and 1-2 $15 tables. Then over in front of club murmur by the poker room is another 15 tables or so with the ends being $15 and the center tables being $25 tables. Then above that section up a small flight of stairs is the high limit section $100 and up. Not sure MS rules in the High limit section.

Only a few of the tables it seems to me at the borgata don't allow MS entry.

lastly i believe they have the best game in AC using only 6 decks and not much heat from what i have noticed.

Got in a $10 6-deck game there at the Borgata at around noon on a Saturday (three of us) with no problem. Plenty of other $15 tables as well, but the place is as advertised: a solid place for blackjack in AC.

As for the Taj, I agree that it pretty much stinks for BJ. Our craps experience was quality though...entertaining dealers and strong drinks.

good luck

Default Borgata heat

Borgata is, doubtless, the best place to play in A.C.

However, I was "half-shoed" and followed around by a sarcastic 'counter catcher' on my second visit there. I was betting only 'chunky' green. If memory serves I was betting two hands of $50 to $600.

That's an awful lot of green chips.

You mean someone actually talked to you about it?

I've been half-shoed and shuffled there more than once and nobody has ever said a word to me.
