HELP! Was I right!!!
Okay here's what happened, I was playing BJ last night and the count was VERY high. It's an 8 decks so +6 is VERY high for me (near the end of pack, true count with basic high/lo).
Okay in Montréal you have this odd rule where you can bet on another player. That means that you put a bet ON A PLAYER and you're bound to his decisions (if he refuses to double, if he refuses to hit, etc).
One girl (a stupid girl, every casino employee KNEW HER NAME) put a big bet on me. I play a 10$ table, she put 75$+. I was dealt a 15 vs a 10. Quickly evaluating the situation, I calculated that I should better stand as I had too much chances to bust.
Next card dealt was a 6. The lady was EXTREMELY SO ****ING PISSED. She called me all names, an incompetent, a sucker, a newbie... Look Ms. Lady, I didn't make you bet on me, YOU did it. The dealer had hidden 10, so 20, meaning I would have won if I hit... But I think my decision was correct. Was it?
Oh btw she almost hit me. She slapped the table, called me a stupid bitch (maybe I was, I don't know) and bitched for a good 5 minutes. And of course, no casino employee did anything.
So, TC of +6, standing 15 against 10, is that ok or is it my bad?

You were right, but...
This kind of thing happens much more often than you would think it would. For example, I can't tell you how many times I've stood on, or surrendered, my 16 only to see the next card was a five.

Thx . Still, was it correct of the casino to let this bitch insult me? Or do they do it because she bets big?

I wouldn't have tolerated the continual bitching from the woman, regardless of how "hot" she is. I would have yelled "Knock it off!" or something and risked getting booted than be ragged on and on by a woman. Your call is your call....stick with it and suffer the consequences and move on. Same goes for the bitching woman.

One last question : suppose the count is high and you have 10-10 vs dealer 6, would you consider splitting? If there was NO HEAT AT ALL

No heat at all? Then yes. With no heat at all you play like a computer and make the bet that is closest to your optimal bet and play that gives you the highest EV.

Yeah no heat at all. Table limites 15-300$ and I can actually go from 15 to 300 and it will be fine. I'm actually working on a little something.

Do not worry about the woman
She will never bet on your hand again.
You did do the right thing though.

Welcome to the Club
This is BJ. If you don't knock off somebody's head, somebody will knock off your head. Just watch out for the know-something player. They are the most dangerous and agressive.
