A computer capable of reading your mind may sound like science fiction, but it's rapidly becoming reality. Researchers at Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) are now using relatively inexpensive electroencephalography (EEG) caps to measure the brain's electrical activity, then applying sophisticated algorithms to decipher this data into something meaningful enough for a computer to use.

Cool. I hope we live long enough to see some of this technology come to fruition. Like anything else, both good and bad can come from it. As always, I hope more good than bad. Hey! Are there any casino games where this would be useful?

Yes - blackjack - the technology will identify the counters and other APs. zg

You're right, but maybe we can use it to better advantage than the house. And of course there are possible ECM (electronic counter measures). Got to go with the flow, ziggy; things change and we have to change with them if we're going to stay on top.

That's why I asked. I couldn't think of a way other than poker, but I thought that might be due to my lack of knowledge about other casino games, like Carribean Stud, 4 card poker, Pai Gow, etc. BJ doesn't work because the dealer doesn't know what his hole card is--that much I knew. Hmmm! Maybe knowing when the house is monitoring you would be helpful. When you know you're drawing heat via mind reading technology you simply turn into a flat betting ploppy. When house attention turns elsewhere, you resume counting.
