Default Simpson questioned in alleged theft at Palace Station casino

(CNN) -- Former college and NFL star running back O.J. Simpson has been questioned as a possible suspect in an alleged theft, a Las Vegas, Nevada, police spokesman said Friday.

Police say O.J. Simpson has been questioned as a possible suspect in an alleged theft at a casino.

Sgt. John Loretto of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said there was an allegation of a theft, "involving Simpson as a suspect."

"We're waiting right now to see if we can put together a press conference," Loretto told CNN. "We haven't arrested him or anything else; the investigation is very preliminary right now."

Asked whether Simpson is a suspect, the officer replied, "It is an alleged theft, and he is an alleged suspect."

CNN affiliate KVBC-TV in Las Vegas said the matter involved allegations of robbery at Palace Station Hotel and Casino.

Simpson was acquitted in the June 1994 slayings of his ex-wife, Nicole, and her friend Ronald Goldman.

The two were stabbed to death outside her Brentwood, California, home.

The former football star was arrested soon after the killings but maintained he was "absolutely, 100 percent, not guilty."

Default OJ Alleged Robbery Victim Speaks to TMZ

The man who claims he was robbed by O.J. Simpson has just spoken exclusively to TMZ.

Alfred Beardsley, a sports memorabilia collector, says Simpson and his posse pretended to be customers who wanted to buy the suit Simpson wore when he was acquitted.

Beardsley says they entered the room and two men drew guns. He said Simpson was calling the shots during the alleged robbery.

Earlier today, Simpson told the AP he didn't break into the room, he just took what was his.

The entire videotaped interview will run tonight on TMZ TV.

O.J. Simpson ordered held without bail

By RYAN NAKASHIMA
Associated Press Writer

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Police arrested O.J. Simpson on Sunday, saying he was part of an armed group who burst into a Las Vegas hotel room and snatched memorabilia that documented his own sports career, long ago eclipsed by scandal.

The arrest starts a new legal odyssey for the fallen football star who more than a decade ago was acquitted of the slayings of his ex-wife and a friend, and opens the possibility he could spend decades behind bars.

"He is facing a lot of time," said Clark County District Attorney David Roger.

I wonder what the line is on OJ walking for this.

That's a problem when people get away with things, they believe they can get away with more and more, and quite often they're right. Right now the usual gang of idiots is out there trying to figure out how to spin this stupid, angry robbery into a black-white thing. They'll succeed too, but I don't think LV will care if Al Sharpton wants to boycott the city. Vice has never been successfully boycotted.

If he gets away with this, who knows what he will try next? Another murder, rape, spreading 1-40 at the El Cortez?

The best quote by OJ so far since all this happened. " I thought what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas "

Classic!

the worst that could happen in that last scenario is that he gets back roomed and wins a settlement for $45k, like one of our esteemed, former posters. WIN WIN.

"Whether or not the property belonged to Mr. Simpson or not is still in debate," Lt. Clint Nichols said Sunday. "Having said that, the manner in which this property was taken, we have a responsibility to look into that, irregardless of who the property belonged to."

Last I heard it's 2:1 for conviction. Two "ugly ass" shoes vs. one glove that don't fit. I hope that the cliche is right this time "He who commits a felony in Vegas STAYS in Vegas", for 10-20.
Hell, even worse, he might even try a 1:10 at the Siena!
