What is the best video poker game and,

#1
where can I find the strategy sheet for it?

I've been told things like "Always go for the highest possible hand" in video poker. Like if you've got a pair of queens but two other cards are suited face cards or an ace always throw out the non suited queen.

Apparently going for the high hands like royal flushes, four of a kind, straight flush etc. pays bigger in the long run.

Then there is the specific video machine that pays the best. Which one is that?

Advice welcome. Thanx.

You can find out which machines in your area pay by googling vpfree.com
VP has so many different games, and paytables for the games that it needs to be studied rather extensively. No simple answer to your question will make you an AP at VP.

if your looking for a vp person on here, im the man.. i highly suggest you buy vpsm and look for the lowest denomination you can find that has full pay jacks or better which has a pay table that pays 9 for the full house and 6 for the flush.. i would suggest you get a book, but only about 70% of the books are correct, and a good amount have no idea what they are talking about, its amazing.. john grochowski is very good.. google: video poker jacks or better strategy and read read read.. full pay jacks or better has the exact same house edge as blackjack w/ 8 decks, s17, doa, da2, rs4, so its quite good.. dont be tempted by the other video poker games unless you have a large bankroll; i know jacks or better only has 1 jackpot, but trust me, jackpots come at a price, if a game has 2-3 jackpots, you will lose fast, then hit a big win, whereas jacks or better you lose very slowly and hit a royal every 40000 hands.. its probably best you do a lot of reading, then ask questions, because i could type all day on things you should do, just go read

Any book in particular you'd recommend?

If you can find it, play full-pay deuces wild. Jacks or Better simply isn't an option, unless you're getting REALLY high cashback (over 1%), or it's progressive. Pick'em poker is pretty good if you can find good cashback, as it usually returns 99.9%.

While I'm not big on Vp,I've read a few books and I'd say the best of the ones I've read was Jean Scotts book. Its called something like Video poker for Frugal Gamblers. Not only does she explain the game, she more importantly teachs you to navigate the various players clubs.Which is where the real money is to be made in VP these days.

everybody seems to forget GAMBLING IS A LOSING VENTURE!.. you cant expect to have +EV on every single thing you play in a casino.. +EV vp is EXTREMELY hard to find these days (in the 90s it wasnt hard at all).. you are more likely to find 8/5 jacks on $1 machines than you are to find +ev on any machines.. if you are new to video poker, play jacks first, so you can get a feel for what its all about.. trust me on this, if your new to vp, play jacks first! low volatility, easiest to play, easy to find full pay (may have to go to $1 at some casinos tho).. search for john grochowski if you want a book (im not sure on the spelling).. but most importantly, read a book, because if you sit down at a random vp machine, and dont know a damn thing, you will get killed

people who say, "play full pay deuces wild, its 100.75%", clearly havent played video poker in a long time.. now i didnt say they dont exist, im just saying that when it comes to vp conversations, you might as well leave +ev machines out of the conversation, its a safe bet.. in fact, a number of states have outlawed +ev machines.. i wonder if the stratosphere still has its famous 10/6 and 9/7 jacks+..
