Default Catching heat

On a recent trip to my local casino while I was playing at a 10min. table a relief dealer came on to relieve the regular. What happend next was a little unnerving to say the least. The count was high and we had been enjoying some good wins for a short time before. This wise*** dealer proclaims to the table I'm a pro player, this was a surprise to me because I didn't warrant the title. I've had this dealer before and labeled him the hand of death as I do if a dealer runs the table off with long win streaks. This jerk doesn't know how to play correctly much less adjust for indexs. The funny thing is the guy two spots down from me was winning and taking some serious green away from them. I didn't stay at the table much longer because the count started to plummet and was a goood time to switch tables. blackchipjim

Some dealers might just be saying it to butter you up, get a reaction, entertain the table, etc. Especially if you come across as fairly smart (or exceptionally dumb), and the dealer recognized you.

If the guy has no clue how to play, it's even less likely he's a counter catcher.

Now... when I dealer told me that splitting tens could be a good index play, that's when I started to get worried, and asked him to explain to me in great detail what an index was.

I can't imagine that I'm worthy of the attention this dealer was giving me. I won't give this jerk a toke anymore and will move when he shows up. I have a few dealers that are really nice and sitting down at their table is always a good time. I try to stay away from the jerks and so called pro dealers because they usually make alot of mistakes and need alot of correction on totals and payoffs. blackchipjim

If the sloppy dealers make payout mistakes in your favor, and you can correct the ones against you, that could be very lucrative.

I dunno though, I'm trying to put myself in ploppy shoes. If the guy really doesn't know basic strategy, then I find it hard to believe that he genuinely thinks you're counting. He might just think you're controlling the flow of the cards.
