Building a table!
I'm making a table at home for practicing craps and BJ. The "unit" is made of hard wood and press board. I have felt for the covering. My question is...
What material should be used under the felt (between the felt and the wood)for the cushion? It is not so important for the BJ, but is very important to the craps. ChefJJ, any help?

I will check to see if I still have this link for building your own. I'm pretty sure you can order that diamond stuff for the walls from a casino supply-type place. Check back...I hope I can help you.
good luck

Quilters Dream Poly is a material that you can use to put under the felt to mimic that of a craps table. It's pretty accessible at fabric stores and such. Use 1 or 2 layers, depending on how soft you want it. The felt and quilting can be "glued" to the plywood by using some sort of a spray adhesive made especially for fabrics.
If you really want to rig something up with craps table walls, you'll need that diamond rubber stuff. It costs a bit more, but try doing a search for "craps diamond rubber" and that should net you some results for places to order it from.
good luck

Got the fabric
I got some of the quilters fabric. Also got some real thin packaging foam sheets. The fabric feels better. I am going to Biloxi next week. I will pay close attention to the craps surfaces. Upon my return I plan to cover my rig. I'll keep you informed.

I am definitely going to finish making a practice table. My results this trip were sooo good. It would be a waste for me not to continue!

This sounds like something that would happen to me. Glad I'm not the only one!
