The generic answer is 1-6 for DD, 1-10 for 4D and 1-12 for play-all 6D, but the real answer is to always use the biggest spread you can get away with.

What about the (-.02) SD game at Barona (assuming it's still there)?

With a $100 minimum bet you'd better have a big bankroll and a towel to mop up all the sweat from the pit boss.

I'd never have that much to bet. I am just curious how small of spread you could get away with while maintaining an advantage.

Technically you wouldn’t need to spread at all since you have the advantage off the top, but a 0.02% advantage isn’t really enough to play with. A nice 1-2 or 1-3 spread would work wonders in that game.

By "get away with" include not only what the pit overlooks BUT ALSO what will keep your RoR for your BR to a level that is acceptable to you. Also spread to two hands when possible in positive counts.

With that particular game, you DO NOT need to spread to have an advantage.
you need an empty table, or 1 other person, and you need very precise and astute index play.

I know that particular casino well, and you would not need to spread to beat it.

Now if you wanted to make some money on it, a 2-1-3 spread with strong index numbers could do some damage.

$200 off the top and at neutral counts, $100 on negative counts, $300 on + counts, and a roughly $30,000 bankroll.

Whoa, wait. That SD game no longer has a positive advantage off the top, and report is the pen is poor enough to make it not playable. Northern Nevada is the place to experience SD.

Barona brings back memories for me, first really, really bad beating I took in my career!
