Ken have you or anyone else read this book? I read the preview,are the authors actually saying that you can control which numbers come up on the dice simply by the way you hold them or by how you throw them up against the wall?

Your question was to Ken, so forgive me for jumping in on it. Dice control isn't so much about rolling certain numbers as it is in NOT rolling certain numbers....particularly 7's. By setting the dice and getting the "mechanical" repeition of the release and always landing the dice at a predetermined point, it seems to be that folks who have perfected this skill are able to avoid rolling 7's. If 7's can be avoided except for the comeout roll, then players are going to make a lot of money on the place and pass bets.

Wong says that its reasonable to gain a 1-2% edge... Tamburin tells me that some of the pros appear to have over 5% advantage. zg

Yes, I've read most of the book. I just got my review copy a couple of weeks ago, and I immediately ordered stock for the store. Mike is right on target... The easiest way to get an edge is to avoid the seven. By tossing the dice in a way that they tend to rotate on-axis with minimal energy, the idea is that particular dice sets reduce the appearance of the seven enough to gain an edge. I need to check with some of the active players to see what they estimate their edge at.

I've read most of the book and find it helpful. You need to set the dice correctly, hold (grip) the dice correctly and throw the dice correctly to be successful. On the come out roll you want the dice to show seven's all around and hopefully you'll get a seven. Then once the point number is rolled you want the dice to show hard numbers all around. I've been practicing at home and it's very hard to grip the dice so they don't separate in your hands before you throw. I'll keep at it and try it out soon at the casino. Our casino has a $1 minimum from noon to 6 since they don't get many players at $5 minimum so it won't be too hard on my bankroll.

As a beginner at Craps I recommend the book.

ST what they mean is reducing the number of random sevens that come up from the statical probably of 1 in 6 to 1 in 6.5 or1 in 7 or better depending on how good you become.Hopefully point numbers will fill in around the difference. I might suggest you read something alittle less advanced starting out like Scobletes Beat The Crap Out Of Craps.The money you spend on the book you will make up for in savings at the crap pit the first time you use it.

I stopped at a Craps table at Fremont Casino last week to explain the table to my son and son-in-law. While we stood there, an older gentleman was the shooter. We watched him throw 27 times before landing a 7. I hate to think how much was won on that streak with the full table.

Thanks NC I'm still just curious about Craps at this point while I'm perfecting my card counting. I'm looking to play other games as a form of cover play when I win large sums at blackjack then I can walk over to the craps table so the casino just thinks I got lucky!
