just back from another Reno trip and have been finding that most of the 1 deck games have been heaven for a red chip player like me. going midweek am able to play almost always by my self or with at most one other player. Playing at most 40 minute sessions spreading 1 to 4 (1 to 8 at the bigger houses). My question is are these games as good as I think they are or am I just going through a period of positive flux? If you are a red chipper in Northern Nevada you got to love it.Any comments welcome.:)

Well, the one time I played in Reno, I had one of my proportionally worst days.

I did some sloppy simming, and the really restrictive (D10) games can be beat by a good double deck game (albeit with bigger spread), but if you get the good rules (DOA) then it really starts hoppin.

And most importantly, you can find good red chip tables practically everywhere.

Yes ER that is true what you stated about the good DD game being better. But to date there is only one house Ive found with a playable dd game, 70% pen or up. The other games the pen is not good and might need to big of spread to get away with without a good act IMHO.

Where in reno do you play?

At what casino do you play and what rules does that casino offer at the table you play at? Some casinos like boomtown offer full pay single deck with double any two cards. Others like the eldorado offer 6 to 5 on single deck with double any two and double after a split. One is a great game and the other is unbeatable!

CC since you are a dealer in NLT and know boomtown I am sure you have heard of Sparks. You should be able to figure it out from there:confused:

My last four trips to Reno went like; 900, (400),1200, 500 so, I'd say I was both lucky and able to take advantage of what they offered. Most winnings came at slow parts of the day (early morning-7pm). I prefer Reno to Las Vegas and definately prefer it to CA Indian Casinos.

Reno's single deck games are pretty good. Most casino's are D on 10 & 11 only though. BT has a good game but you gotta deal with players who dont know how to play a lot. Also Fitz's game downtown has really good rules but the pen sucks and Im always affraid to walk around with any big money downtown. Eldorado does have a 3 to 2 game but its d only 10 & 11 also. Im sure there are more games around town. I tend to play in casinos who have high denomination chips ($500 -$100) available because then they won't sweat my $100 or $200 bets. Smaller casinos start checking my play as soon as I make a large bet and usually end up asking me to leave for just playin BS.
