Surrender after a doubledown?

I've found a casino that offers this mysterious rule. Mysterious as to why it would be offered. When I heard about this variant, my eyes literally glazed over with dollar signs.
What sort of strategy would be optimum for milking this table? My assumption has been basic doubling strategy, while surrendering anything I would normally hit again (me <17 vs dealer >= 7). Any analysis exist for this sort of thing? Any input? As a point of interest, there is no standard surrender, only post doubledown surrender.

That's an odd one all right. A glance at the 6D S17 EV tables at BJMath yields the following advice:
After doubling, surrender any hand of less than 17 against a dealer 8,9,Ten, or Ace. Those hands have a 'Stand' EV of worse than -0.50.

Don't surrender any other hands.

Now, optimal doubling strategy with that rule is not as easy to figure!

Thanks for the quick response; I had not realized the 7 would be more favorable to stand against. The probability link figures to prove valuable as well.
