Default 5-Card Charlie

I don't really know where this is offered and how often anymore, but I just was playing BJ and thought of this. Many people choose to wong out when the count drops to really negative counts. Would it be beneficial to stay around in these counts if the rule was in effect? If I knew a lot of low cards were left in the deck, should I try and win this way or would I just be chasing extra money that I really can't get?

It probably isn't since it's such a favorable rule.

But I'd stick around in neg counts since in all liklihood the player may have the advantage. Depending on the other rules of course/

Default five low cards raise the count

Depending where you are in the deck a hand of 5 low cards will raise the count. By the time you are at the end of the hand you may be back in a positive count. The best thing you have accomplished is that you consumed all the bad cards for the dealer and the rest of the table! To get a 5 card charlie and the count still stay negative, every other card on the table must be a ten or pic. Possibly even the dealers twenty, two ten cards!

Correct 5-cardC strategy is worth about 1.1% at 0-count. zg

Alot of 5 card hands that don't bust are likley to contain 1 or more Aces.
