Question Statistical variation

In a 6 deck game with good rules, what is the statistical variation from zero for swings in a 6 deck game?

For example, using 1,2,3 unit bets depending on your point count and being 30 units up or 30 units down being your stopping points.

What will the average swing from how many units up to how many units down wiil the average shoe produce?

I'm talking all shoes the dream ones where you never lose a hand and the nightmare ones that seem to never end.

I have no I idea, but my guess is going to be plus 3 units to minus 3.5 units.

Thanks, goodh2o

Your variance will depend on your bet spread, but your estimate of +3 to -3.5 is way low, even for flat-betting.

Rather than get into the technical details, here's a link that may help:

Hmm, I should actually read the question before answering I guess. Although that calculator doesn't do exactly what you asked, you may can still zero in on an answer with it.

Just to clarify, I assume your question can be more precisely stated as this: What is the average high point in a shoe, and the average low point in a shoe under the conditions described?

I assume you're already aware that a spread of 1-3 will still be a losing proposition in a six-deck game, right?

Average high and average low would be fine.

No, I did not understand that a 1 to 3 unit betting would result in a loss.
