Drawing attention with bet increase

I recently jumped my bet from $15 to $75 on one hand in a DD game due to a big shift in the count and the available games deteriorating to too many players. The rest of the time my increases had been more incremental. There didn't appear to be any reaction but it made me think about that kind of move being unwise in Vegas at a place like Mandalay or NYNY. Comments here have indicated you can be pretty loose as a red chip player at places with a $15 min. game. But in games with a $25 min. I'd think even a four unit jump would be inviting attention, particularly during a slow period. Sound right? Heading that way in a few weeks.

At DD 1-5 spread on a $15 or a $25 table is fine on the strip. That's very tolerable for them, however those spreads won't make you too much money. Also don't stay too long at those games, move around every few hours.

for the info. BTW, when I made the jump to $75, my max bet was $145. I intend to spread $25-$150 on a $25 min game because I'm working with the 1% of bankroll guideline s. Some of the DD games with attractive rules seem to have minimums of $25 and higher. I'll definitely keep moving.

There's a contiunuum of cover. The most conservative commonly mentioned would be to only double your bet, and only after a win. After that, you can start cheating in varoius ways, like increasing more than double after a doubledown, or increasing after a loss (pseudo-martingale).

But it depends on where you're playing. If you're keeping sessions short at a place where they don't know your name, and you won't be back for months... then who cares? Go for it.

On the other hand, if you're playing at the same place, same shift, for hours on end, you're relying solely on the indifference of the casino, regardless of whether or not you only double your bet.

I know that in Atlantic City, where I play for the most part, they hardly bat an eyelash if you are playing a $25-$50 min table flat betting minimums and then at some point jump to $200-$500 bets...heck, I do it all the time. I have only played in Vegas a few times(meaning"2") and after reading all I had read of the various horror stories of maltreatment of players, I played differently there, being cautious and bouncing around, making more gradual spreads than I would make in AC, waiting until I had a great count and then announce,"Well, I'm worn down and tired and ready to go relax in a hotel room, so I'm going to toss a few fatter bets out, win or lose and call it a day!", do so...and leave. That was year before last; I'm headed back out there in March so I intend on gathering as much intelligence as possible to avoid any problems of any kind.

The people that play in Vegas on a regular basis (that have posted commentary on my questions pertaining to this subject on here) have said that it's got a lot more to do with WHERE you play at there as far as not being scrutinized or noticed in some unfavorable way and that perhaps some of my fears were unwarranted.

I fulling intend on researching this further and knowing all I can to avoid any problems and maybe I will do some of the same "hit and run" tactic that I did there previously. Atlantic City is very familiar to me and I am comfortable in knowing just what I can get away with and where, whereas in Vegas I am "a stranger in a strange land" and certainly not in any comfort zone about the place after reading some of the stuff I have read. This might have cost me money as far as not making as much my last trip there but better to turn a smaller profit and not get beat up, robbed and imprisoned because you happened to piss off the casino by winning some of their money! Of course, reading farther along into this behavior on the part of casinos in Vegas you run across where people have filed lawsuits and things against them and won, so the procedure could now be limited to asking you to leave but in any case I only wish to avoid any problems and issues.
