Who here has played in Mississippi?
As I just mentioned in another post, I used to play there exclusively. Vicksburg usually, but the coast a couple of time as well. Now that I'm living in Salt Lake I play in Wendover.
Just wondering what everyone's opinion is of the MS experience for those who have played there. . .

I've only played in MS and Wendover now, so I don't have a lot to compare it to. Never played in Vegas or AC.
Wendover casinos seem to be a lot like those in Vicksburg, MS . . . generally small affairs that can offer an enjoyable evening of gaming but don't expect what you see in the movies.
However, despite the addition of H17 and the lack of the DAS option, the edge on the single deck Wendover games is a touch less than the 6 deckers I'm used to playing.

It's comparing SD to DD; two totally different worlds. And 6D is another planet still. Both southern MS and Wendover are great venues though. Backoffs are probably a little more frequent and somewhat rougher in MS, but there are more stores to choose from. Wendover is a place the trade is trying not to burn out.

Tunica and Vicksburg
I play Tunica often. You can find some decent games at Fitzgerald's and Gold Strike.
SD-H17, DA2, No DAS
DD-H17, DA2, DAS
6D, H17, DA2, DAS
I played Vicksburgs this last summer for a couple of days and the games were delicious.
SD-S17, Double 9,10,11, DAS
DD-S17, DA2, DAS
6D-S17, DA2, DAS, Late Surrender

I had never played a single-deck game until I moved here to Salt Lake and started going to Wendover and was shocked to learn that that is literally all you can find there. I've always wondered why they chose to set it up that way. I like playing single but admit that I do miss the fraternal quality of being able to see everyone's cards.

I do technical phone support for CapitalOne and really got into a conversation with a woman whom I told I was going to Wendover and was going to be playing blackjack. She told me that she used to be a dealer in Biloxi. I asked her if the casinos down there were serious about watching for card counters and she said yes, they were, and that she "could tell me some stories." I wish she had.
What do you mean, Wendover is a place the trade is trying not to burn out? Are you saying they'll look the other way if you're counting?

Wendover is a lot more tolerant to advantage players than Vicksburg. They are the opposite when it comes to heat. MS and Wendover are my two favorite places to play blackjack in the US. I have only played in Vicksburg couple times, but frequent Miss coast often.

Tunica MS. is where I play the most. The DD pitch game is the best game available at 25.00min tables and less, and can be found at all the casino's I have played in Tunica. I have never caught any heat and the comps are good.

No disrespect intended, but Biloxi is in the South and attitudes about behavior and rulebreaking can be kind of stern compared to the rest of the country. Even though we are not doing anything illegal, some casinos don't see it that way and the treatment will not be pleasant once a casino believes you to be an enemy. You have to be similarly aware at some remote Indian casinos- you do not want to get into any kind of trouble with any person in those areas.

What I mean is the serious players who play it play it gently. Heat is not aggressive there and we all want to keep it that way, so no super-aggressive play. They can change their game any time they want to, no benefit to killing the goose that lays golden eggs.
