Beginner needs help

I have just recently became interested in playing blackjack. I've learned the Basic Strategy and The Revere Plus Minus Strategy. I live in Cleveland Ohio and I was wondering where the closest and best place for me to try out my new skills would be.

Probably Detroit. But the games in Detroit are ass. Atlantic City is great if you don't mind driving. Cincinnati has some okay games, but that's a pretty long drive, too. Gary/East Chicago has some okay games.

I would also highly recommend you switch counting systems if you aren't too used to the one you have.

Cinci is 3 1/2 hours from C-Town...their games are much better than Detroit, for another hour of driving. AC obviously has options, but that's a hell of a drive.

good luck

Oh, I just checked and I realized that I was mixed up about the system you were using. Revere plus-minus is fine; I thought you were doing the advanced point coint, which is like a level 4 count.

Wheeling is less than 3 from Cleveland, but it sounds like the BJ games are crappy. You like the Salamanca casino, gloves?

good luck

Is very nice , close , new , no heat , and not too bad in reality and comps are good and food is great as well . Off the beaten path so wonging in and out is NOT an option cause the place is never really crowded or overly crowded I should say . Give it a run Cheff - you will like it .:) ;)   :cool2:

If you're going to be playing any multi-deck game the Revere Plus-Minus System in his book will do you absolutely no good. The reason being is there is no betting collerlation for the true count as well as no true count interpretation, not to mention no index for insurance. Having said that, if you bought his Advanced Plus-Minus book you can play shoe games with no problem as long as you know bet spreads and bankroll requirements which can be found in several of the more popular books.

Isn't is basically the same as Hi-Lo? Level one balanced count?

Not quite. It's more like a CABS based solely on Pos. and Neg. RC's. There is no explanation of the TC in that particular section and no numerical indeces. So, it's not accurate for anything beyond one deck and since there is no index for insurance it's very weak. The real ticket, as I said, is his advanced Plus-Minus which costs $25 and covers TC, indeces and insurance play.
