Question Craps: Place or Come?

To incite some more craps discussion: For players that go beyond the line bets...what do you prefer? Come bets or place bets? And why?

Place bets. They are off on the come out roll, but come bets aren't (well the odds are off, but I still hate losing on a seven on the come out roll )

I prefer place bets because they can be taken off and pressed anytime. Another bet I like is the "put" bet but that is only good when the house offer very high odds.

Come bets. Far superior, even on 6&8 and especially on a table with higher odds. Ideally your table should allow 10X odds+. If you truly believe you are betting on a dice controller or you yourself are a dice controller you could bet Come/DC on every roll after the come out. Take max odds on come bets then on your next come out roll when you shoot for the 7 take max odds on all your don't/come bets.
As for put bets you usually need to be putting minimum 6 times odds behind every put bet to make it stronger than the corresponding place bet. The best put bet I ever heard of was a new dealer allowing put bets on the Don't Come bets...I'd have made that bet all day if I had been there.

Hey JJ,
What's with your avitar? Don't tell me you got some serious makeover. Next thing you know you'll be "kickin' it up a notch" and looking like Emeril.

Well, I figured that ol' Bob Barker truly wanted to be retired and not have to hang around the message boards all day...so who do you see more than anybody else on TV these days?!? Billy Mays!

good luck

PS - Bob...do you prefer Place bets or Come bets?

I like the come bets when it fits my bankroll. low minimum and high odds.

full odds, with a high minimum can knock your d*ck in the dirt fast.
