Default Heat and Camouflage

I got another newbie counter question here. . .

I don't know how many times I've read that you shouldn't spread more than 1-4 in a single deck game. But what about in a situation where you know you'll never visit that casino again, or at least not again in the foreseeable future?

I mean, if you're taking a trip across Nevada for the sole purpose of hitting casinos one at a time--maybe not spending more than a day or two anywhere except for Reno, Tahoe and Vegas--then should you just sit down and blast away with 1-10 in an SD game (or 1-20 in a 6D) like you just don't give a f--k until it's clear you've worn out your welcome, or should you still exercise some sort of restraint?

If you're thinking about a straight 1:10 spread, you probably won't even have a chance to get your seat warm before you're shown the door, however if you sit at an empty table, you can spread to two hands with a 1:5. This will accomplish two things: 1) It looks more normal and 2) You actually expand penetration on a SD table when two hands are dealt vs. one. Save the straight-up 1:10 spreads for the more hardy aquatic mammals.

One snag with the approach Bob mentioned is places that require double the minimum bet could drive the price of the game up too high. Good luck finding many SD games worth playing too.

There is a lot more room to spread on a 6D game, but I find DD to be a more happy medium.

Where I spend most of time playing now we have quite a few excellent single deck games. Hell, that's ALL we got! Good luck looking for a shoe anywhere . . . you won't find one.

I believe most authors state that 1-4 spread will get you the money in single deck and also comment about heat being especially high if you try to spread more. That does not mean you should not spread more if you can get away with it and afford it. I do not get to play much single deck these days but the same authors will state 1-8 spread on double deck but for short periods of time, in perfect situations I have spread 20 and even 50-1 in a double deck game. It might require a good act and an exit shortly later, but it is done.

Hey, even *I* made it for over an hour spreading 1-10 in a single deck game...

In hindsight I would have spread less.

1) Although the min. is doubled the "life expectancy" is....PRICELESS!!
2) Don't know about you , but I just spent 3 weeks in Reno/ Sparks etc. and didn't even touch a game over .25% HA, some with LS were as low as .10%.

I go balls to the walls if im never coming back again, personally if it was the end of the shoe i would do something liek push all my chips into several betting spots, if it was within my betting power, whatever the betting spread may be, this looks very random and non-counterish, they dont have to know that i have another 10grand in my pocket if they think all my chips are on the table and i just went all in why would they stop me.

Also, while it does suck getting kicked out, I feel honored when im apraoched an they tell me im too good for them, it touches my heart in the deepest of places. so if im never coming back, why not play more hands untill i get kicked out than just leave on my own?
