Like any red-blooded man, I enjoy having my blackjack hands dealt to me by beautiful young women wearing lingerie. They have a sucky game at Caesars which I passed on, but at the Planet Hollywood, they have a "Pleasure Pit" of regular H17 6D games without any rule difference from the regular tables. The girls are all inexperienced, but quite easy to look at. It obviously makes it difficult to keep track of the count, if you're wont to do so. I was more interested in paying attention to other things.

The girls come out, the mins go up to $25, the tables empty except for a few players, and all of a sudden you're in the right place at the right time. :)

I spent only a couple hours here last weekend playing those $25 hands. I called up a host yesterday and asked about getting a rate soon. They took half off the rate I could have gotten by booking through their website, which is a lot more than those people across the street at Bellagio did for me when I called up for my last reservation. So I think I will be staying here for a few nights in February.

In the DD game penetration is consistently set at 1 deck if the players show any kind of skill; it makes one wish for the cut marker that some casinos have that prevents the house from varying penetration based on the pit crew's judgment of player skill. Shoe games cut off a good 1.5 to even 2 decks. Yuck. However, I did notice a $5 minimum on the shoe games during the morning hours, a rarity on the Strip unless you want to venture into a dump like Imperial Palace (I don't).

On the bright side, they don't call this place "Planet Ho" without good reason. There are perhaps more hookers per square foot of casino space than any other place I've seen in Vegas. They competition got so fierce, I even saw one blow $400 bucks sitting across the table from me trying to get me to stop paying attention to my cards, and pay attention to her plastic boobs. Now that was some advertising money she flushed right down the drain, since I don't fancy the thought of Mrs. Doofus using a dull knife on my privates.

You play -.46 games without deep pen' ?

Yikes, what an optomist.
Well, I have to play there a little when I get there to justify the comp. Also a place for me to learn craps, as cover, now that's a confusing game.

advice

Re: Craps. It is a simple game. VERY much so. You can have a seat at Borders or Barnes & Nobles and thumb through the books, or just do a google search. Forget about precision / controlled dice rolling. It takes an enormous amount of practice.

The numerous sucker bets with revoltingly bad e.v. e.g. "hard ways", "hop bets", etc. you would avoid. entirely "Buying" and "Placing" numbers you will not do. The Craps Crew will suggest them ad infinitum.

You will ONLY be making bets on the PASS line (or DON'T PASS) and taking the free odds. Boring ,but you will stand a decent chance of making money or losing only a trivial sum.

I shoot craps for cover/comps myself.

I like Stratosphere, Boulder Station, Eldorado, Jokers Wild, Sante Fe as they have 10 X odds. Sam's Club will give you 20 X 1 odds.

Warning: At the Start' do not even go near the "Crapless Craps" - a complete carnival game.

NOTE: Your Odds bet are NOT used in figuring your rating.

If you bet $25 on the pass line and $100 in odds it works to reduce your disadvantage on the sum BUT it increases your variance. That is why casinos allow it. Their pockets are infinitely deeper than yours are. The increase in variance is almost never mentioned by anyone. Also, the free odds indeed reduce your disadvantage ONLY if it means that you are betting far smaller on the pass and/or don't pass lines than you would with little or NO odds taken. So ... If you want to have an average of about $100 in action and instead of putting $100 on the line you bet $25 and take $75 in odds, then YES, you can view that as an improved e.v. as the -1.4% that you are bucking only applies to the $25.

You cannot expect to earn more than a pittance in comps betting red.
Most casinos do NOT rate your play at the red level.
Why lose money shooting craps?
Who said I was betting red?

I may lose money shooting craps for two reasons. First, I may find that I enjoy it. Second, it may make me look less of the budding card-counter that I really am. Indeed, "enjoyment" is also the reason I play blackjack; the minute gambling stops being enjoyable I will move on to another hobby. I already have one job, I don't need a second one! ;)

You must be angry at the world. Every comment you've left today has been very negative.

good luck anyways

Public Apology

I apologize.

I am suffering with the FLU.
My 103 F. temp. has broken but I am VERY sick still.

I am usually an upbeat optimistic jovial sort, but being bed-ridden the last 6 days is almost more than I can stand.

Thanks for the tip on PH. I've done well on my trip, up 80 units and now just looking for some diversions and low-stakes stuff my last day. Think I will head over to PH now and scope out the lingerie, figure some weak dealers might just put a few $ in my pocket.

Also good point about playing red. You get like $5 an hour. Bleah. The sooner you are willing to invest in your play and put some real funds at risk, the better off you will be. I got burnt out on red play very quickly, although a little $10-$15 action with an elevated bet spread (greater than 1-5) on DD can still float my boat.

P.H. and the best views in town.

P.H. has more hookers per square foot than any joint in town.

The cocktail waitresses are exceeded by The Wynn of course.

The dancers above the tables, showcasing their skinny butts,
ply their trade in the evening only - making small stakes play there a joy . . .
just as long as you are not distracted by same.
:p

I went to PH and now I remember the place, not that impressed. It's going to take more than that to get me to play $25 6D.

They also let you split aces to three hands and also to surrender. It's a really friendly game (the 6deck that is), but the girls as you say are easy to look at, but not good dancers. I think ph is a step down from the Alladin of former days. They have decorated it on the cheap, and the comps are not as good. For example, Alladin always gave you a free breakfast buffet when you stayed there, but that has gone by the wayside.

My wife reports that the underground mall, formerly Desert Passage, is going down hill. Used to be exclusive. Now they're letting in Foot Locker, she says. lol

Also, I began playing their single deck game and choked when they paid me 6 to 5 on a natural. Bye bye. I should have asked, I know, but there was no sign. I resent being suckered in. I know. I know. It is my responsibility to know what the rules are.

There was a sign when I played there. Either it was on the felt or on the separate electronic scrolling sign.

I made the same mistake sitting down at the Golden Nugget a few weeks ago. I got confused when I got a natural and I started getting a bunch of dollar chips in payout!

Yeah, that dang scrolling sign. I had completely forgotten that surrender was an option there until I happened to glance at the sign as it scrolled "surrender" briefly. Why do they give you advantages and then take so much effort in hiding them from you? I'll bet you're right about the 6-5 rule, too. I looked everywhere but could not find it and didn't think to look at the scrolling sign which covers more than just rules. I felt like a complete sucker sitting there at that unprofitable game. In truth, I'm only half a sucker. lol
