There stands Ron Paul like a stone wall
There stands Ron Paul like a stone wall
Posted by James Ostrowski at January 29, 2008 09:55 PM
Wow! What a night.
Chaos and clarity battled tonight. Clarity won and I for one am very happy about it.
Now we get the one-on-one scenario I laid out a few weeks ago but which was delayed by Romney's victory in Michigan (won by his embrace of economic fascism).
Again, let me mimic Michael Corleone:
Romney's dead. Giuliani’s dead. Huckabee's dead.
Rudy will now drop out and endorse McCain. Les belligerents need to stick together. Huckabee will stay in to draw votes from Romney and hope to get VP. (Why anyone would want to be Vice President beats me.)
Romney’s attempt to buy the presidency with his personal wealth has failed. He outspent McCain ten to one in TV ads and got whipped anyway. His speech tonight looked like a funeral.
McCain was civil to all his opponents tonight except one: Ron Paul. That was the tip-off that this is now a two-man race . Ron Paul got 60,000 votes tonight in Florida even though there has been a media blackout of his campaign since three days before Iowa.
We are already being told that McCain is a lock; it's all over. That's the conventional wisdom and anything else is just wishful Paulian thinking. But, as with all my prognostications this year and last--including that Rudy had "zero chance" to win when he was leading the polls by 14%--my analysis is based on facts. Such as: John McCain has only eight percent of the delegates he needs. And: McCain is a deeply flawed candidate who remains unpopular with the Republican base.
In spite of taking a beating in the early primaries, the General ordered his troops to hold their fire and wait for the right time to strike back. The time is now! The time is now to drive the beltway elite all the way back to their homeland in Washington DC.
The troops are fresh. Morale remains high. There’s money in the bank and the orders are to fight on.

Ron Paul Looks Past Florida, Seeks Coverage
By Jim Roberts
Jan 29, 2008
Ron Paul won't make the headlines in Florida. The ten-term US Congressman from the state of Texas has been polling in the low single digits in the Sunshine state and it appears that Tuesday's vote is far too important for Florida voters to toss away on someone that won't stand a chance in the state. Paul says he is looking forward to a strong showing in Maine this weekend in the Caucus process in that state.
The Associated Press is reporting that state Republican Party Executive Director Julie O'Brien says his supporters may have been the most active in Maine. Nationally, expectations have likely been met. Paul is still in the race and has outlasted one time frontrunner Fred Thompson. Paul will also probably outlast New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani who certainly must consider dropping out as he will likely finish a distant third in the state. Paul will finish dead last and is looking past the state to try and get some momentum somewhere, anywhere else.

Mainstream Media can not ignore Ron Paul much longer
By Ian Brockwell | American Chronicle
January 27, 2008
Despite the most shameful of attempts to keep Presidential candidate Ron Paul out of the limelight, the Mainstream Media will shortly be faced with a situation that even they can not manipulate, reality!
Whilst they could easily explain away their tactics when there were ten candidates in the race, and even cheekily try to hide Ron Paul when that number fell to five, what excuses can they possibly find when he becomes one of the remaining three?

He believes against the constitution that we have a right to meddle in the business of other nations. And the US suffers the lashback. War is only justifiable as an act of self defense. We used poor judgement at best in that preemptive act of war. Oil clouded eyes, and visions of Iraqis carrying nuclear bombs on camels to the US, somehow won the day. I guess it was more the oil clouded eyes that won the day. George, I like you, but you're a big dummy to believe your advisors who sold you on Iraq being a threat to the US. Maybe loooooong term (long, long, long, long, long term), but how could you have swallowed the charge that they were an imminent threat? Where the hell is your common sense? The guys around you that made your family rich and continue to support your family's well being--man, they're not your friends--hell, no--not when they tell you to protect their oil interests--tell you it's all for the good of the nation--where the hell is your own God given brain to figure this all out? How can you claim to be our President when you don't even have a mind of your own? I don't think you should be impeached. I think you should wake up and resign. But you're so dumb you can't see past the tip of your nose. Loyalty is good. But wake up and smell the coffee georgie boy. You've been loyal to the devil's helpers. What's good for Haliburton and XYZ Oil is not necessarily what's good for America. If you weren't so stupid I'd be a lot angrier at you. But I can't be angry with a stooge, a big dummy. But I am angry at your handlers--white hot angry. One of these days I suspect the wrath of God Almighty will be unleashed on those who have knowingly mislead this great nation. One of these days, true Americans will reclaim this country--true believers in freedom and decency--true patriots who follow their consciences and innermost sense of what is good and right, not their father's friends who stand to reap enormous profits from a nation that bullys its way to get its way. Dress it up in liberation policy, the fight for freedom, trying to make the world a better place, but it still comes down to protecting trhe flow of oil and not letting it fall into our enemies hands. I guess that's why alternative fuels aren't getting anywhere either. What good is a water powered auto, or an electric vehicle, it if doesn't consume oil and make your friends rich? Oil Oil Oil You keep saying we have to become energy independent. Put all those war billions where your mouth is. Develop those alternatives with all those war billions. Sure your friends will all go belly up, but you might save the nation in the process.

Ron Paul's Prospects Look Up in Maine By GLENN ADAMS – 1 day ago AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Republican presidential hopeful Ron Paul has a couple of things going for him at this
weekend's Republican caucuses: a band of highly motivated supporters and a natural appeal to Maine's like-minded independents.

Paul: Secretive Elite Control America
02-01-2008
Presidential candidate Ron Paul says he traces America's problems to the flawed monetary policy of the wealthy and secretive elite.
During a speech at the University of Washington on Thursday, Paul said the Congress and the Federal Reserve will not be able to stem the recession spurred by the home mortgage meltdown.
"The most important thing you can do is nothing," said the Texas congressman, who voted against the recent $146 billion economic stimulus package passed by the US House of Representatives.
The 10-term Texas congressman maintained that a series of wrong economic decisions by the Bush administration has led to a recession.
The government should allow the market to correct itself, Paul added.
Although the mainstream media attempts to keep a low profile on the 72-year-old presidential hopeful, he has managed to find a staunch group of supporters who say he has captured their hearts with his 'message of freedom' and constitutionalism.
"The Constitution was written for one specific purpose and that was to restrain the government, not to restrain the people," Paul has said.

Again, Paul is right on target.
I was talking politics with a lady at the Borgata yesterday. I mentioned Ron Paul. She says, "That kook?" The media has really done a number on him.

Paul draws big Denver crowd
"He's real strong in Colorado," said Vince Holcomb, 45, a massage therapist from Centennial.
"Ron Paul is a lot higher in the polls than the mainstream media publicize."
Full-bearded John Wiens, 57, of Loveland, decked out in a Revolutionary War-era fifer's outfit complete
with a tri-cornered hat and knickers, played "Yankee Doodle Dandy" on his flute before the Texas Congressman entered the hall.
The crowd chanted: "Ron Paul Revolution; Taking back our Constitution."
Paul said he is so well-received in Colorado because people in the state share his love of personal liberties,
his quest to "return to constitutional principles" and his belief that government needs to be dramatically reduced.
