Angry Crappy games

Let me first off state that I in no way believe myself to be a skilled craps shooter. I play it for entertainment value and for cover.

With that said, I stopped in at the Showboat this afternoon, just passing through, and bought in for $100 at the $10 table in the House of Blues Casino. For the most part there were about 7 or 8 players. The first roll I had I think I hit 3 points and a bunch of numbers in between before I finally sevened out. It was good enough to get me up over $400. The dice come back around to me and I sevened out right away the second time, and my chips were almost gone to the point were I was getting ready to dig in for another $100. I had all my chips on the table and one shooter hit a couple numbers and points to get me right back in the game and almost back up to my high point. The third time I had another nice roll with several numbers mixed in with 3 or 4 points again.

I figured I'd hang around long enough to shoot one more time before calling it a day, and proceeded to loose as 4 shooters in a row could not hit a single point. Right before the dice were to come back to me again, The pit comes in and announces the table is being changed to a $100 minimum. There was no warning. I had to look around and double check that I was still at the Showboat. Last time I checked, the Boat isn't exactly a high roller's haven - They had a $25 blackjack table in the the high limit area last night! Obviously, everyone cleared out and the table was left empty.

That's weak. Even at a BJ table you normally get grandfathered to the lower min when they raise it while you are playing.

Going from $10 to $100 is very extreme! Were there a lot of people winning before they made the change or something?!?

I was only up about $200 and a couple people busted out. No one else was doing anything spectacular. It just came out of nowhere.

Maybe they were expecting some high rollers. Goes to show how much they care about us low rollers.
