Default What's up in Florida

Confused by the occasional news stories about Vegas-style gambling in Florida? You're not alone. Here's an article that lays out the current situation:

Spending a few days in Ft Lauderdale, and figured I could get in some playing at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood Fl.

Pretty flashy hotel and Casino, but from the article referenced looks like just slots and poker. Well, at least there'll be an excuse to keep my wife away from those %$#%$# slots!

... or suppose I could take a crash course in Texas Hold 'Em.

Place is still charging as much as $319 for a weekend room!

Or if you have a bit more time try the Discovery cruise to Freeport Grand Bahama Island - that one requires a passport but you get three meals plus the sea air. 2BJ tables - $5 min, 6deck game, dd any 2 cards, h17 (I think), no surrender. You get to play about 4 hours each way. Ignore the free tournament signs - I asked and they said there's never been one. I was the first person to ask about it.

Did the SunCruz Casino Cruise out of Ponce Inlet last year, and the games were OK -- surprised to see LS. Using it really freaks out the ploppys! Very attentive waitress with the free drinks .... lot of cheap SOB's not tipping, so she watched out for me!

Freeport hmmm ...... I like that idea. Maybe next trip.

Checked the web site I... sure does look a lot better.

BTW: SunCruz out of Daytona/Ponce Inlet has been suspended.
