THE BLACKJACK EXTREME MANIFESTO

This one truth is self-evident – Card-counting is not a crime. Counting cards is a skill. It encourages mathematical proficiency while improving your ability to concentrate and multitask. These are valuable competencies leading to scientific achievement.

Scientific innovation is now charged with solving all our problems from climate change to economic instability and the inability of people to “just get along.” Accordingly, we hold that counting cards with the goal of mastering blackjack should be taught in elementary school, perhaps even as early as preschool. (Testing reveals that toddlers can learn to count to 21, although they split 10s waaay too often.)

In order to allow casinos to offer this beloved game without going broke, (as if…) we have reinvented blackjack - patented as “active dealer blackjack” and currently offered under the trademark, BlackJack eXtreme™. Bringing Down The House just became a history book.

Wide acceptance of BlackJack eXtreme™ in casinos and online will open young minds to the practical value of mathematics. As any MIT professor will tell you, once you wrap your mind around concepts of random probability, a grasp of Quantum Mechanics is not far behind. And if you believe in Quantum Physics, you are more likely to believe in global warming and evolution. There is no downside here, people.

Some of us are not well-suited for mathematical learning. Therefore BlackJack eXtreme™ also rewards development of social skills such as emotional empathy to detect untruthful behavior known as “bluffing”.

Likewise, BlackJack eXtreme™ helps develop analytical thought. Players and player/dealers may interpret the wagering moves of their opponents to deduce the most likely value of the hidden (or “hole”) cards. Say, do you know David Pom? Are YOU David Pom, really?

Tell us how your new game is exploitable with advantage play. Why can it even be called a game of skill? It looks more like a non-skill game like Let It Ride.

Set us straight on this.

And IF you are not David Pom, then I nominate David Pom to play BJX in a showdown match with Kasi and Supercool. zg

Ps - In all fairness it sounds like more of a tourney game. Has it been intro'd to our Tournament sister site? If not, it should be. If any of those tourney boys at the sister site want to do a tem challenge against members here, some of us are up for that.

I took'em all out last night! David Included! Won all four matches I played. It was actuall pretty fun. Anybody wants to play, just name the time.

ZG is correct that it is a tourney game for the moment. We offer just a six seat sit-in-go format to keep it simple. Ring games can have more open blind limits, but the player/dealer will have to have the option to pass to make things fair.

We know that reading your opponent, representing your hidden cards and devising strategies in response to "texture" of the game are real skills which give you an advantage.

In theory keeping count of the cards, especially since every card is revealed, should give skilled counters an absolute edge. But math isn't everything, and a bad beat put on you by a fellow player is much more likely to put you on tilt than one by the casino. Especially if it was through some feat of daring like the dealer hitting a soft 18 and breaking a push.

I accept the proposed match. This week end is filled, but next week any time will do. Say, Monday, 8PM CST? So that was the Johnny who was kicking butt - please come to this game. I won't be so easy on you this time.
