Default Whats going on here?

Why does a change in penetration affect the advantages at each count? Why would a running count of -8 with UBZ II be positive EV with 3.5/6 pen but negative EV with 5.5/6 pen? Am i reading something wrong? I dont have my own CVCX so i guess it might be me not understanding the software but anyways, Any help here would be appreciated.

Default You're not going crazy...

I don't know why that happens, but it does. Using KO for 6D, the shoe ought to become favorable at -4. But sims run with deep pen show it becoming favorable at -3 or -2.

well i don't know anything about that particular count. but i believe intrinsically what changes as a result of the differant penetration is the frequencies of the various counts. this in turn initiates a differant amount of betting accordingly. so the root of the differance would really be the differances in a given counts frequency that results from the differant degree of penetration.

Default The Float and The Anchor

If you look at the advantages at 0 and postive you can see the floating advantages. Sooo it appears there is perhaps an anchor; higher disadvantage, if deep penetration in negative territory. I have stated before if casinos deal deeper they would make more money.

Don't know UBZ II either but in the Hi-lo world an RC of -8 would only be about a TC of -3 with 2.5 decks remaining but a TC -16 with a half deck remaining.

Anyway I think in general the overall disadvantage from neg counts is less with less pen and more with more pen.

For the most parts most counts less extreme like say a -5 to plus 5 range will have about the same adv. Especially if the pen change isn't quite so extreme like in your case.

After all, it is only a 0 .005 change from one to the other.

If unbalance Zen works like KO, then it tends to overestimate advantages near the end of the shoe.

If -8 is right around the "pivot point" (a marginally positive count) then that would make sense.

And let me know where to find that 5.5/6 game, mkay?
