Combining card count with qfit chart
Well i have read all the rules on the qfit website, practiced a bit of card counting and read every link in that FAQ post. I also read how the count helps in deciding when to double down, split or use the insurance bet. But i don't really understand the reason why, would any of you please help give me a clearer more "english", if you may, explanation?
Also, when the player (counting) doesn't have all these options, is he supposed to follow the rules from the qfit.com website's chart? or what?

Not sure I completely understand your question but the counting stuff changes the ratio of low cards vs high cards compared to an undealt deck.
So if you know, say, a whole of extra tens are gone, maybe it's OK to hit a 12 vs 4 because you won't bust so often. Kind of thing.

Thanks for the reply. I deduced this out but i cannot figure out how I can use the card count for double down or splitting. For insurance, i think that if you have a high positive count, its good to take the insurance since the dealer is likely to have a 10 along with the ace, is my reasoning right?

right well most of the time you go by basic strategy but other times if the true count warrants it you may depart from basic strategy. but you don't have to figure it out. the works already been done and it's been categorized and tabulated in matrices. so you can just memorize basic strategy and memorize certain basic strategy departure for certain true counts and your good to go with respect to that question. suggestion look into the illustrious 18 and fab four and see what you can learn about those. maybe check out the game master's school :

Thanks for the help guys, I am looking into the link you sent right. I am also curious on reading the books instead of bombarding the forum with questions lol. So for counting and strategy combined, which book would you recommend that i can find locally? I am still 18 in grade 12 but i hope to get better so that i could go into casinos with confidence after a couple of years (or months, depending on how committed i am lol)
Thanks

Definitely read the books...learning WHY you deviate from BS or increase your bets when the count hits certain points is the best way to understanding how this all works.
good luck

Also, remember that the most important things are playing correct basic strategy, getting the count right, and betting correctly according to the count.
If you have trouble also remembering basic strategy departures, you can forgo them, as they aren't nearly as important (but still good to learn later).
