In Vegas, the shoe dealt DD game is growing,as casinos adopt it as game protection.
That hasn't spread outside as far as I know, but I'm hoping.

Specifically I will be playing at NYNY and Mirage. If anyone knows specific about these locations I'd appreciate it. I played at NYNY last June and remember it being face up. Cant remember if shoe or handheld.

The "traditional" DD game is pitch, and face down.

However, in vegas, i think you can find all combos. Shoe and face up (cortez?), shoe and face down (mandalay), pitch and face down (many) and pitch face up (mirage/TI).

Go figure.

NYNY is hand dealt face down, H17 DAS, $25 min, $50 min when busy.
Mirage is hand dealt face up, S17 DAS, $25 min, $50 min when busy.

TI and Mirage are both face up.

NYNY is face down. There is more heat at NYNY given that DD is only in the high limit area. I don't know if NYNY high limit room is still under construction. The did have a temporary area set up.

any update on conditions?

havent been to vegas in a while, am going to hit it up in a few weeks. anyone like to share or PM some currently good conditions? would really appreciate it as i found last time i was there that CBJN was a tad out of date.

would obviously prefere to stay on strip, trying to decide where i should try and get a comped room and put my bank in the cage, and would ideally choose it based on a place with a quality two-decker. is the Bellagio dealing a decent game these days? any other place? looking ideally for $25 min, though would play $50 min if really need be.

thanks,
rukus

Mirage has a great 2 d pitch,s17,das,and fair pen. Took down most of the tiki hut stuff. Look for tables near the beatles show entrance. Some curiousity from pit when I went down $3700...asked me what kind of player on vacation does that...told them a Foxwoods/Mohegan fan and that ended the chit chat. Explained that I don't start playing good until I'm $5000 in the soup. They did let me get it back along with a few extra dollars. I pressed and spread big with little notice. Tell them that's how we play back east.

They play face up 2D at El Cortez, was the best rules I could find while I was there (even have a couple of $3 tables). You will get heat if you are a counter and they are quick to backoff players.

My recent Vegas trip 5/17

These are a few of the playing conditions I found 5/17-19:

NYNY: DD, pitch down, 2 tables, $25/100. Penatration was terrible.

TROPICANA: Just curious to see the $10 tables. Terrible place to play, can only double down on 10 and 11. Left immediately upon seeing those rules.

HOOTERS: Just walked thru to check out the girls. The Hooters dealers were pretty hot. They had two DD games, worst ever. They do not pay for blackjack, they only offer "guaranteed BJ win" every time, meaning they just pay you even money even when the dealer had BJ. Plain stupid.

MIRAGE: Only found two DD tables over near Beatles entrance, $25 and $100. The $25 table goes up to $50 at 2:00 pm. Penetration was about 75%. My bets ranged from $25 to $150, won 9 out of 10 big bets, no heat, no questions.

The Hooters game you were looking at is a Super Fun 21 game and not blackjack. The pen at Mirage is 60%, they use a notch.

Last time I was there, hooters also had a regular DD game (one table), dealt by a normally dressed dealer. Not particularly memorable. And during day shift, the Hooters dealers seemed a little freaky looking.

last time i passed through on Day (about 9 months ago) there i only saw 6D BJ games and i actually caught some older looking dealers and immediately left after that. why would that place, known for its love of nice, wholesome owls, employ 40 yr old dealers??? i highly doubt there is a shortage of busty 20 yr olds in that city... not worth any time there in my opinion.

The Trop took a few big hits after introducing the DD game and changed their rules. It is still S-17 but double on 10,11 and NDAS kills it as a decent game. They also reduced things to 1 table.
Still when I noticed the dealer giving 75% or better pen, I played, I made money and when the next dealer gave 60% pen, I left.
I disagree that it is a terrible place to play though. Often you can get a S-17 shoe game with only a deck cut off but everything is very dealer dependent. Same rules on the shoe as MGM next door, one dealer cuts a deck, next dealer cuts 2+, find the pen or do not play.
