Well I'll be shoving off this evening for Florida getting there in the dark. I will probably forced to seek greener pastures farther than my stay in Fort Meyers. The big M is the closiest action but obviously not the best so I will seek out other venues within my realm. I will give a report if there is any to give on casinos in the areas accessible by car. blackchipjim

well good luck. the only decent one i know of is SeaEscape in Ft. Lauderdale. but anyway i've always wondered about sterling casino lines outside of Cape Canaveral....

Sorry to say, you're out of luck. The nearest action is at the Hard Rock Tampa (about 1 hour west of Orlando). You already know what to expect there.

I have read several posts here and elsewhere inquiring about the places to play blackjack in Florida. Since the Seminole Indians debuted blackjack last year, they put some of their competition out of business, such as the Sea Escape out of Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale.

The land based casinos that offer blackjack are all run by the Seminole tribe. The locations that currently have blackjack are:
-Hollywood (15 minutes West of Fort Lauderdale or 45 mins North of Miami)
-Tampa
-Immokalee (2.5 hours Southeast of Tampa or 2 hours West of Fort Lauderdale/Miami)
The Seminole tribe has plans to add blackjack at two additional locations near the Seminole Hard rock in Hollywood. One location is literally across the street and the other is is Coconut Creek about 30 minutes North of the Seminole Hardrock in Hollywood. There is no time frame for either location.

All Seminole locations have 8D shoes on the main floor and 6D in the high limit room only ($100 min).


These are the boats that currently offer 4 hour trips normally twice daily:

SunCruz Casinos currently operates twice daily sailings from:
-Port Canaveral (1 hour East of Orlando)
-Jacksonville
-Key Largo (1.5 hours South of Miami/Fort Lauderdale)

Big M out of Fort Myers (2.5 hours West of Miami/Fort Lauderdale or 2 hours South of Tampa)

Palm Beach Princess (1.5 hours North of Miami/Fort Lauderdale)

That's it! Everything else is out of business.

In my research the boats are awful. I've been to both Hard Rocks (Tampa/Hollywood), and they're both marginal at best, but beatable. 1.5-2/8, no surrender (!), ASM everywhere, a few CSM's.

No heat that I noted, though. Don't be afraid to wong in and out very aggressively, and spread big. You'll have to to win.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe that Immokalee is CSM only, but don't hold me to that. You only missed one that I could spot: Suncruz Port Richey, which is about 2-2 1/2 hours west of Orlando. You can stay on board for up to 17 hours because it's an anchored ship that a ferry travels to and from throughout the day. The very few games that they have are beatable, but unless you're nearby, it's not worth the trip. PM me if more info is needed.

Hard Rock is easy to wong in, but as noted, it's 8D unless you're in the high-roller pit, which is under what seems to be pretty heavy scrutiny.
