With newly approved compacts between the Indian tribes and the state of Oklahoma, live blackjack games are now available in some Oklahoma casinos.

Here’s a story from an Oklahoma City TV station:

Just played last Monday. Small quirk in that you pay 50 cents to the house for every hand. The .50 comes back on natural 21′s but all other is funnelled directly to the house. They are using a 4 deck auto shuffler. The cards are inserted into the shuffler at the end of each hand. I do not know if it mixes the discards back into the shoe or just shuffles say the last 52 cards. Does anyone know how these work? I played for 3 hours and did not see any of the tables changing decks of any sort.

I played at the Lucky Star Casino on the 2nd night of Blackjack. Like John S. observed, they have a 50 cent ante which I didn’t notice anyone getting back on a natural. The dealers seemed rather novice but fair. They used a six deck shoe which was shuffled by hand after the last card was played, they burned the first card. Seven tables had a long waiting list at 10:00 pm.
