The book is an excellent refresher course for basic strategy. It is an easy read. It discusses money management, rules and strategies for different casino rules around the world. I don't know that I learned how to profit playing blackjack, but more about how to limit losses per session. At one point the author talks about paying attention to the cards that have been played and varying your bet accordingly. Increasing your betting units when the count is in the player's favor. I believe this type of play is actually referred to as card counting. Good charts and explanations of the variations of Basic Strategy per the casino rules and number of decks. Well worth the cost.
