Many pitch games work like that - 2 x min on two spots. On 6D they do that in some places, but it is much more loosely applied and PB usually waives it. Also, it seems to be much more common at mins lower than $25 - I cannot remember seeing that rule on a $25 min table.

That's a good question. If the casino is acting belligerent - will they let you grab all your chips as you walk away ? I assume that if they are mostly black chips, they should be easy to cash out at another store...

I have not been able to find any way to avoid the main cost of short sessions - reduced table time. Factoring in travel time between stores, plus wasted trips (tables full, closed, etc) I have rarely been able to get in more than 6 hours net of table time in a 12 hour + Vegas day. That's ok...
