Just proof that any strategy can win in the short run!! GEORGE

    Percentage Play: Matt Summers

Although it's clear that 15s and 16s should often be hit, I will only hit them against an ace. To me, the mental peace of playing this way more than offsets the anxiety of following Basic Strategy. To each his own I guess!! GEORGE

    Hello

I have had some success with a similar betting strategy betting 5-2-3-3-4-5 and quitting or changing tables after 4 straight losses. In addition I will walk away after winning 25% of my BR (or less if I am getting tired). I follow Basic Strategy with a couple of minor execeptions (I know I am...

Here's What Often Works for Me

I agree that stats and simulations don't lie and in the long run prevail, but remember I win or push some of those 12 non-Black Jack hands. I'll let you guys know when this blows up on me. It just hasn't yet!

Here's What Often Works for Me

Problem is that I agree with you guys!! But like they say about the stock market "You can't fight the tape". The tape for me the last 10-12 months is that what I have been doing works. One thing I neglected to mention is that I also quit a table after making 5 units; take a breather (watch...

Here's What Often Works for Me

Bet 1 unit and lose; bet 2 units and lose; bet 3 units and lose; bet 7 units and lose and leave the table. If I win bets 1, 2 or 4, I win 1 unit. If I win on bet 3, I break even and if I lose all 4 bets, I have lost 4 hands in a row and 13 units and live to play another table or another day...

    Should I take insurance holding 20 vs dealer's A?

I don't as I worry, not only about the odds being against me, but about the possibility of the dealer not having blackjack and drawing a 20 or even worse a 21 and thus losing all over the place. GEORGE

Basic Stragies with hunch works better....

When I say SHORT TERM I really mean SHORT, SHORT TERM. For example let's say that I sit down at a $5 table with $100 with a goal to make $20 to $25 (20% to 25% of my BR) and will walk away if I lose 4 straight hands or $70 to $80 my $100 original BR. As I may have hit one of my parameters...

Basic Stragies with hunch works better....

I agree 100% that Basic Stratey is mathmatically sound in the LONG TERM. But many of us don't play for extended periods of time which means (at least to me) that the results obtained in the SHORT TERM can often deviate from LONG TERM Basic Strategy percentages. If this is true, I see nothing...

    Double Exposure BlackJack

Any thoughts on this game? The trade-off between seeing the cards vs. losing pushes and even money blackjacks seems ok to me, particulary if you play with a Tournament-Like mentality.
