    Casino Nova Scotia (Halifax)

Went up to Casino NS in Sydney today. They still use shoe-dealt games. One $5 table and one $10 table on the go Friday night...I'd imagine its the same tomorrow. If you can make it to Sydney it's worth it. Get there early as getting a seat later in the evening can be very...

Floating Gala casino in Glasgow - near the main station ?

Is this the casino near George V bridge? Played there a couple of weeks ago. Rulesets are pretty nice, DOA, DAS, resplit aces (i think), 6 decks, no surrender. Did pretty good and walked out up 100 quid for one night of work (at the 2 pound min table) On a side note, if you plan on going to...

The story of how a no hole card won me and everyone big

I know. Why did I do it though? Gut feeling...(which was helped by the count). The main flaw of basic strategy is it only works best if BJ is an independent based event game. As soon as the first card is dealt, the odds change. Now, BS, is great because it's done over the long run but...

    Ploppies

Amen. Happened to me yesterday, it was me in seat 6, french guy who had spots 3/4 and a guy in seat 1. The count was 5 so I put out a $25 bet (5 reds). As soon as I do this and the dealer is about to put her first card out the french guy puts out a bet on a new spot. I let it go...and this...

    BJ question

Really, which casinos do you play at? lol On my experience, I have seen dealer's block off 4 decks on an 8 decker (albeit rare, it does happen). I find dealer's are under more pressure to give better pen with the fewer the decks because more hands per hour played means more profit for the...

    BJ question

Ohhh the irony of I dont know what I'm talking about...you don't either... "Penetration has nothing to do with your question, and his statement that 95% of casinos deal 4-8 decks is equally irrelevant to your theoretical question" - Actually it DOES matter, the original question was how much...

    BJ question

Something like that yes. It doesn't really matter mathmatically because 52 cards is still 52 cards, you still have the same odds of hitting a picture off the start, it just changes slightly the further you go into the shoe. And as for penetration, yes, it does matter. I find dealer's tend to...

The story of how a no hole card won me and everyone big

I am living in Europe (ireland) for 4 months, so coming over here and playing blackjack was quite an adjustment to the rules: You can surrender, some casinos you can only double on 9,10,or 11 (i dont bother playing those games)..but the big thing was there is no hole card. A lot of people say...

My strategy for playing Perfect Pairs (30 to 1 payout)

One casino I played at has the lucky ladies side game. Basically the payouts start if you have any 20 and go up to suited queens, with suited and non-suited picture cards in between. Only problem is it is literally a crapshoot because the casino in question uses CSM; however, if a shoe game...

    BJ question

Depends which casino you're in...always ask the dealer when you sit down what the rules are. And in response to your first question. The house advantage actually doesn't change much because 95% of places use between 4 and 8 decks. It changes by like 0.02%. Main reason for this is the dealer...

    Casino Nova Scotia (Halifax)

I know this is an old thread, but I am going to do a follow-up. The place has cut down severely in size in terms of tables. ALL tables are now $10-$15 minimum. There are these "video blackjack" machines that are $5 minimums...but who wants that? Rules: Same as the OP described...they use CSMs...
