I sure this has been discussed here before but I couldn't find it. If you're just a BS player how do people sitting at the table who don't know basic strategy affect your hands? Example hitting on 16 with a 6 showing.

What would be considered a good sampling size? I have played over 3000 hands at about 10 different times playing and have won over 5000.00 using this betting strategy on the simulator. Just a little nervous trying it out in a real environment.

This might seem like a stupid question, but how is practicing on this simulator different from playing real hands at the casinos? The reason I'm asking is because I used go to the casinos or boats, and play, won some money but then lost it all and then some, and I didn't want to learn to count...

Thanks for all the replies and info. I was going to try a betting scheme that I learned on the site a while ago. It's kind of a progressive but with a limit. 10 first hand, lose, double to 20, lose, double to 40, win or lose go back to 10. I've spent hours practising it, with some sucess...

I was practising with single deck, h17, da2 game and I had a pair of 7's with a dealer's face card. I went to hit and the simulator said to stand. I thought it was wrong, but went to look it up and sure enough on a 10 you should stand, but not on a 7, 8, 9 or ace. Why is that?
