Glimmers of hope for AC this summer?

The player that knows the difference between 3-2 S17 games and 6-5 H17 games probably also knows enough basic strategy to keep the casino's win rate low. If players became educated and everyone played perfect basic strategy at a 3-2 S17 table they couldn't afford to keep the table open. The...

    Crazy Rules: Fantastic or pointless?

I'd guess a basic strategy for this game would actually have you splitting 10s against some cards, 5,6, etc, as the possibility of the extra payoff might outweigh the risk of breaking up the 20.....

    Changes in ac this week

I just checked it out and the tables are in fact S17...but the lack of money drop slots cut in the table says to me that they are tournament tables.....

    strange table rule?

I've been told by a couple different stores that the 2x and 3x minimum bet thing is a Nevada Gaming Control regulation. Not sure if it's true or not but since that rule seems to be in effect everywhere in Nevada it's a possibility.....

Novice question about cards that will improve a hand.

I would argue that an ace doesn't improve a 15 anyway, since a hard 16 is worse than a hard 15.....though both hands are terrible!

    Interesting Situation

So as surprising as it may seem, the player came back about 10 minutes later with a guy from the Casino Control Commission......CCC guy said to the pit they need to pay him $140, and they did! After the player left to get the CCC, the dealer was saying that the guy was taking a shot and he...

    Interesting Situation

I was playing at a store last night that offered the "match the dealer" side bet - if either of the players cards matched the rank of the dealers up card, the player is paid 4 to 1 on the side bet. If the card is a "perfect match" (suited match) the player is paid 14 to 1. The minimum bet for...

    Las Vegas

Monte Carlo has 6D S17 for $10. It's near the steakhouse (BRAND). There is one S17 table that is always $25 but one or two next to it that are $10.

    Monte Carlo conditions

Dopple, I just saw this thread after I sent you a pm. Current conditions are: $5 game, h17, ls, rsa available weekdays till 7ish, then they go to dimes, although on weds the $5 game was still there at 11pm. At the same time, they have a $10 game going that is the same rules but s17. The s17...

    Surrender Questions

Ah, that's exactly what I was missing. I know the correct composition dependent play is to stand with a 3 or more card 16 composed of a 4 or 5, but I hadn't thought of that with respect to the surrender situation. Thanks

    Surrender Questions

I'm looking at the strategy engine for a 6 deck, S17, DA2, DAS, LS game and I have two questions. The strategy indicates for a 16 v 10 to surrender, but STAND if not allowed. If I turn surrender off it says to hit, like I would expect. Is this just an error, or is there something I'm...

Promotion I couldn't take advantage of!

I think you hit on it in your post.....for one, most players give up way more than 1% at a blackjack table.....and second, just like you said, they won't have the discipline to quit once they've played it through........

    Say something?

The only problem with doing this is you reduce the opportunity of a mistake in your favor. I've cashed out before and received more $$ than I had in chips. Of course I didn't mention that mistake!

    Top This If you Can

Last trip to Vegas while playing heads up with the dealer, I had a pair of suited kings and the dealer had a 3 up, flipped it over and drew 5 more 3's for a 6 card 18. Pretty neat. Same trip, different day, I drew a pair of aces. Split them. Another ace. Split again. Another ace, split again...

    Vegas casino's

For south strip action check out the monte carlo. They have 6 deck shoes, some tables are S17, late surrender, and of course DAS. $5 - $10 minimum depending on the time of the day. IIRC Hooters had an "OK" double decker - but no DAS. The 6deck shoe game with DAS and S17 is a better game. Also...
