I'd guess a basic strategy for this game would actually have you splitting 10s against some cards, 5,6, etc, as the possibility of the extra payoff might outweigh the risk of breaking up the 20.....

I just checked it out and the tables are in fact S17...but the lack of money drop slots cut in the table says to me that they are tournament tables.....

Ah, that's exactly what I was missing. I know the correct composition dependent play is to stand with a 3 or more card 16 composed of a 4 or 5, but I hadn't thought of that with respect to the surrender situation. Thanks

I think you hit on it in your post.....for one, most players give up way more than 1% at a blackjack table.....and second, just like you said, they won't have the discipline to quit once they've played it through........

The only problem with doing this is you reduce the opportunity of a mistake in your favor. I've cashed out before and received more $$ than I had in chips. Of course I didn't mention that mistake!
