    Where to Cut

I always thought that technically, if you are not tracking, it doesn’t matter where you cut, it’s a crap shoot. I’ve learned some great pointers on this board and the insight behind it. I really like Blue Efficacy’s and Renzey’s replies. Never thought of that. I will try that the next time I...

"would you like a player's card?"

I think it depends on your level of play. If you are a low roller like me, a player’s card gets you coupons for match play, free meals, etc. The times I win I do slip the green chips in my pocket. Also when I play I frequently ask for a comped meal for 2 and have yet to be turned down. It...

    Your thoughts on act 165

Shadroch, I took the exact position as your statement “Is it fair that an 18 year old can kill or die for his country, but is legally too immature to have a drink?” about 40 years ago in a college logic course when the Vietnam War was a major issue and 18 year olds could not vote. I was shot...

    Neutral card side count.

I am curious, has anybody devised a count system that suggests to use a side count for neutral cards. I know that Uston created a strategy that placed a value for each card even the 8 but that is not what I am talking about. It seems to me that if the TC is + 3 and there are a...

QFIT you make a good point. I will not voice my opinions and personal experiences in regards to income taxes any more at least in regards to law. That is better left for the tax lawyers and accountants.

You are right if you win more than you lose you are supposed to report that. It would be wise not to suggest doing something illegal. The point I was trying to make but apparently was unclear, why would you list unreported winnings as income when you can adjust that income with loses, thus...

I don't think creeping panther is suggesting tax fraud. Nothing illegal about winning small pots when nothing is reported to the IRS, chances are the player lost more than his accumulation of small pots was anyway. It sounds like the player the OP is talking about loses in the long run. It...

After checking several sites about gambling in Hawaii, I have found that Hawaii has no casinos, lottery, etc. If this isn’t true please let me know. It appears Hawaii is discouraging any of its residents from gambling, anywhere, with this law. Of course I feel this law is unfair. I know...

Poor penetration with lenient 2 hand policy.

Last one for tonight. A local casino offers a DD game that has a poor penetration of 50% most of the time. The rules are good. You can bet 2 hands anytime you want. If you stop betting 2 hands during a shoe you can resume betting 2 hands once again during that same shoe at any time. Many...

    Unique side bet

There is a side bet at one of the local casinos in Las Vegas that I haven’t seen elsewhere. It is a DD game with good rules and good penetration. If you’re first two cards and the dealers up card totals 19 or 20 you are paid 2 to 1. If the total is 21 then you are paid 3 to 1. A 6-7-8 pays 30...

    What does advantage really mean.

I am not certain what advantage means. If one has a 1% advantage I take it to mean that you should win 1% of your total wagering sum. In other words if you bet a total of $10,000 over a period of time your expected profits would be $100. Is this correct?

    Backcounting without suspicion

Good points I think I'll check dowmtown out. According to Blackjack News looks like a few places may have some decent DD games. Forgot about the smoking thing. Don't want to blow smoke in anybody's face.

    Backcounting without suspicion

Right now I don't have a problem playing red. Need to get up to speed first. Any ideas on wonging out more often at the local casinos. A few have some good DD games with good penetration.

    Backcounting without suspicion

I live in Vegas and just started to get back into the game. I avoid the strip and frequent the larger local casinos. Unfortunately during the day and even at night most of these casinos may have only 2 or 3 acceptable games and at night it is often hard to find a seat at any table. How can you...
