i read in the zengrifter interview about "extreme rounded" index numbers: "Whether one uses an index “granularity-scale” of 0-1-2-3-4-5-6 or 0-2-4-6 or even 0-3-6 it will make absolutely no difference in actual casino play spanning three million hands, which is ten years of full time play"...

is it important to follow the indices accurately? i mean they are approximations anyway. different systems have different indices but they dont differ more than some hundredth of a percent in efficiency. if i use ill. 18 . can i mix my play with indices from hi lo lite when i feel like it?

when i count down decks at home i make about 1 mistake in 10 decks. the problem is like you say in the casino when you have tc and basic strategy and stuff to think about. im worried that i will simply forget the count, or the last cards. for example if the count has been 3 for a long time...

all bj books says if you make mistakes (when counting down a deck) you have to practice until you simply dont make them anymore. but no matter how much i practice sooner or later i make a mistake. is this normal? how many decks can u count down before making a mistake?

have any of you gotten any heat from doubling down on such high cards?

im using hi lo lite indices. i think it looks suspicious to double down on such high numbers when there's obviously no other reason then getting more money out at the table. it looks no better than drawing an ace to a 20 or splitting tens, (and even if you are going for the idiot image, it might...
