    MGM Springfield... Question. ; )

A 48 year old man was shot and killed by Massachusetts State troopers early this morning outside of MGM Springfield. There are few details at this time other than he brandished a firearm in the casino then ran outside and fired at police.

AC -- looking to play breakeven for comps -- thoughts?

I play unrated with the bulk of my play at Oceans because they offer surrender without having to play $100 minimums. My wife gets good comps at Resorts playing slots at a fairly low level. That may be because we live out of state. I will sometimes wong it at Resorts but only at the S17 tables. I...

AC -- looking to play breakeven for comps -- thoughts?

I ducked into Showboat to get out of the rain and it was also busy with lots of gaming taking place. No, not the gambling kind. The entire casino floor has been transformed into an arcade and was full of kids enjoying themselves. I hear that a water park is also being planned perhaps on the old...

AC -- looking to play breakeven for comps -- thoughts?

Masks are no longer required in AC and all the temperature check points are gone. Some of the signage is still up. Oceans and Resorts have removed the plexiglass barriers while Hard Rock still has them. I have not been down beach or to the Marina so I can't speak for those casinos. To clarify...

AC -- looking to play breakeven for comps -- thoughts?

Speaking of Resorts, I was there a couple of days ago (May 26th) at exactly 10 AM. It was Deja vu at it's best. On May 26, 1978 at 10 AM I was in line on the Boardwalk waiting for the doors to open for the very first time.

I hear you. Come to think of it, it was a little dark in there. :)

AC -- looking to play breakeven for comps -- thoughts?

The high limit room in Ocean Casino is closed. They walled it off and are renovating it for something else. The good $25 pit just outside is now 2 pits of 4 tables each. One is always $100 minimums, presumably to replace those in the closed room. The other seems to be as it was before with the...

    Foxwoods reopening

Same old, same old. Dealing 7/8 on the 8 deck H17. Nothing to write home about. My wife played a few shoes at Foxwoods while I stood behind her. (I'm back off there). I actually cashed her chips in for her. Yeah, I like to push it sometimes.

    Foxwoods reopening

Masks are no longer required at Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun with a couple of exceptions. They must be worn by those not vaccinated as well as by all employees. The non vaccinated are on the honor system. Foxwoods has done away with the plexiglass barriers and the one way aisles. All spots are now...

    Water Park Coming to AC.

Showboat has gotten approval from the New Jersey CRDA for an indoor water park to be built on the lot between Showboat and Ocean Casino. Wasn't that the volleyball courts years ago? A 20 year tax break was also approved that could be worth up to $2.5 million a year.

    Mist Mohegan Sun

Another casualty of the times is the $500 minimum blackjack pit that was in the Casino of the Sky. It now has low limit slots and looks like a nice place to play for those who enjoy them.

    Foxwoods reopening

With less seats at the tables, $15 is the lowest I've seen. No decent rules at these tables. It's 8 deck, H17. The penetration can be good but if you spread enough to have a chance they will be watching. If you want a $10 minimum I've seen them lower a dead game upon request during slow times.

    Foxwoods reopening

Foxwoods just announced that they are setting aside an area for patrons 55 years of age and over. It sounded pretty good when I heard it on the evening news. It's the Rainmaker Casino and, as it turns out, it's only weekends from 10 AM to midnight. They really do care.

    New Casino in Everett, MA?

Be aware that Massachusetts casinos will be operating on limited hours beginning tomorrow, Nov 6. Hotels will be closed until further notice. Encore's new hours will be noon to 9PM Monday to Friday and 9AM to 9PM Saturday and Sunday.

    Foxwoods reopening

Well before Covid and no, I cannot play Spanish 21. The only blackjack game I can play is the $1 table in the Fox Tower, not because it's a dollar but because it's dealt from a CSM.
