yes, in that situation the conservative count should have been ~-8 in 4.5 decks or a TC of 1.7 1.7 is not the greatest but it's a nicer start than 0! I find tracking the first 3/4 deck in the discard trey is more profitable. In practice I often get counts of -9 or -10 in a 1.5 deck segment.
