    Sportsbetting in AC casinos

That's cool, tthree. The law in question was U.S. Senator Bill Bradley's Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act of 1992. One source gives this account: "This federal law was designed to prevent any new sports betting of any kind, with one exception. The casinos in New Jersey had...

    Sportsbetting in AC casinos

tthree, you are a good friend of a friend, so I will not yield to testosterone. :) Let's just say it is not a lie. That's the way it went down. And now NJ casinos are screwed with their piddling little race books. Ridiculous and sad. :flame:

    Sportsbetting in AC casinos

Not in our lifetimes New Jersey voters had one chance to legalize sports betting under a federal law passed decades ago. They had to pass a referendum within one year. There was no referendum because the Republican legislature feared a big inner-city turnout that would defeat Christy Todd...

Is EV impacted by when you leave?

Agree, but on more than one occasion, with a big win, I have left near the end of a very plus shoe because I just felt it was time to go. And, if I was being watched and counted down, leaving "early" might just get me some longevity.

    First "real" counting experience...fun stuff

Casino conditions, with the loud crappy music, ploppies, etc., are much different than practicing at home. Stick with it. Soon you'll be able to chat with everyone, maybe hum "Don't Stop Believing," and spread from 1x$5 to 3x$250 without losing a 2-level count. :joker:

    Counting dealers

Recently at the store named after a stone the color of blood (no, not ruby), I found two dealers who shuffled before the cut card even though my bet hadn't moved. Everyone else at these tables was a serious ploppy, so the dealers must have been counting. I left quietly . . .

    Smart CSMs

The casino in Vegas named after a stone the color of blood has a 3CP table with a computer-type display in front of each player. The CSM reads the cards dealt, and reports the hand on the display: "Pair of 5s," etc. So any game with a CSM could do the same thing, and could be programmable to...

Temporary PA BLackjack Rules Up For Review

Taxes and jobs PA legalized table games for two reasons - taxes and jobs. That is the argument for keeping the rules - increasing the house edge will only drive tourists away, meaning fewer jobs and lower tax revenues. :whip::whip:

    Team Bank and RoR

Oh. Makes sense. I guess. So I could clones us 9 times, so we have 20 players, and (cet. par.) RoR is unchanged on the same old 400 unit joint bankroll. Si?

    Team Bank and RoR

I have BJA3 and do not find anything there about my question. There is a whole chapter on RoR but the joint bank is not mentioned that I saw. Anyone?

    Team Bank and RoR

I play with a partner on a joint bankroll. We start a new bank when we tap out or when we double the bank. We play 6D S17 Vegas Strip rules. Our bet ramp is from 1x1 to 2 x 12 at HiLo +4. We wong out at -1. I could use help answering a couple of questions: 1. For a 400 unit BR, what...

    trip report

Agree. I'll toke 1% of a win, up to $25, and all seem happy with that. When I lose, either zip or, at the home store and if I had a long session, $5, and everyone seems happy with that as well. Why do I care whether the casino personnel are happy? Mainly for comps. I suspect that...

Witnessed a ploppy get backed off

And he had to work at it to get drunk, as they only serve booze in restaurants, not on the floor. Gambling age there is 18.

    Hourly win rate for poker

A beginner's poker book by Myers (http://www.amazon.com/Quick-Easy-Texas-Holdem---Instructional/dp/0818406534/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1311275768&sr=8-4) cites a win rate of maybe $12/hr for low limit HoldEm. Online sources are all over the map, though one post estimates 6 big bets/hr, which does...
