Guys, how about joining a private legit APs' forum, which has been around for 2 decades? I'm not the boss, but I can sponsor a legit AP for membership. The litmus test is simple. I need to verify you as a real AP in person.

We can start the verifying process ASAP. Will you be in AC playing BJs within the next 7 days, if so, give me a hint of

1) the color of your cap or pants,
2) venue
3) date
4) shift

I'll find you (if you're a real AP), and a free meal and beers will be on me :).
What casino did you say you worked for?:):)

Now who wants to step up and run the thing
I have unlimited hosting through GoDaddy. I would be willing to purchase Vbulletin. I would be willing to host the site, but would need help.

Upsetting as the loss of this forum is to us all, I’m also not happy about the time I invested adding a feature to CV that displays new BJInfo threads while you practice. I’m always looking for ways to make practice less boring. (Just occurred to me I should have added it to the drills too as that is the most boring part of practice, and would add a distraction.)

If you guys run out of ideas, I can set up a forum on my server along the lines of BJInfo with VBulletin V3 (the current BJInfo software) or the newer V4 (I bought a V4 license and never used it). But, I would want as little to do with it as possible, other than keeping it running and backed up. That is, it would be run by the moderators and wouldn’t look like it was part of my site. One proviso. There would have to be a strict no politics, no personal attacks policy. (Perhaps violation suspensions could be based on a Martingale progression.) I know that would be unacceptable to a few members that believe incivility is an art form. But, I have seen it cause too much damage to the community over the years, and will not see it on my server. Besides, we would just see a repeat of history as incivility would ultimately destroy any new site.
I nearly named my new Jack Russell, Spot, because that is what he looked like, large black spots, but then I remembered that was the name of Dick and Jane's dog in my first grade primer. "Run, Spot, run. Jump, Spot, jump!" LOL. Also, Sparky likes my final choice much better (except for the middle name my Wife added, Reepicheep, after the mouse in Narnia, since he is supposedly part Rat Terrier.

QFit, I've been tired of being accused of working for a casino. Are you being sarcastic :):)? Potential candidates won't know your real intent. Thanks a lot. You just scare away my recruits. Show your evidence that I'm a casino guy, please. Your careless comment flames me, and that how wars start it here. No wonder Ken gets tired of babysitting thoughtless morons and wants to shut down blackjackinfo.com

I'm to believe that the leader in political posts is going to start a forum with a "no politics" policy? Hmmm.
I can see the rules now---------all anti liberal posts are subject to immediate deletion.

The truth is, if you believe in something deeply even if you do not like certain types of posts, you will find it compelling to answer attacks on those deeply held beliefs. I am that way about attacks on my religious beliefs, and Qfit is just as zealous for his political views. I feel sorry for anyone who has no views or beliefs he feels strongly enough about to defend them. As always, ymmv and I respect any difference of opinion.

I wouldn't believe Jacob either. FWIW, he's not posting from an IP anywhere near AC.
Sounds like a surveillance ploy. Or some kind of scam. If he would shed more light on what he's doing and who he represents maybe people would believe him. His namecalling at Qfit put him on my ignore list.

Well put, but this really isn’t quite the issue. What I feel deeply about is information and rationality. What I dislike are opinions repeatedly stated as truisms based on a lack of either. I do not start political threads because they can devolve quickly. I ask that others don’t. When a thread continues, yes I have responded because I don’t like disinformation. And, I don’t like abusive behavior. Jimmy Wales (found of Wikipedia) wrote in a WSJ op-ed “Rude and abusive online behavior should not be met with silence.”

As a site becomes larger, civility can become more of a problem. But, a solvable problem. Wikipedia has over 15,000,000 named accounts. 250,000 accounts are opened each month. 300,000 of these contribute every month. And yet, the overall tone is remarkably civil and disputes are well-handled. Part of this is due to excellently written guidelines. The Civility guideline can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Civility

Remember the old bingo-APs before even our time - they would have huge reems of counterfit bingo sheets in their napsack. Little grandma hardcore bingo APs. Scarne wrote about them.
I guess cheating is AP. Still, I prefer to call it cheating even if it's granny doing it. LOL I have a friend who refers to cold-decking and dealing seconds as good card playing. I still prefer to call it cTheating at cards. Just saying.
These last posts on bjinfo are coming from 40000 feet above Missouri via airline WiFi enroute to Las Vegas. What a world we live in!!!

Prior to Thorp there was little of no distinction between AP and cheating.

Ken, there is a legit reason for it. I posted anonymously thru Tor-Browser. That why my New Jersey ID fails to show up on your log.

See the link below for more info and explanation about Tor-Browser

Brother Aslan, oh no! Why don't you have faith in your Christian Brother with a good intention! Qfit starts to flame me by accusing me of working for a casino without proof. A flamer is a thoughtless moron, right?

No good deed goes unpunished ! I represent myself. There's nothing wrong in sponsoring legit APs to a private club.

Good grief. How many smileys does one have to add to indicate a joke?

And if you'll step back from the situation for one moment, and read your posts as if you are an AP who does not know who you are, I think you'll see why your approach cannot succeed.

OK, fine. I'll not attempt to sponsor any legit AP to a private club. Thanks for your reply.

Why use a top-level anonomyzer to post here? Would you make your board TOR encrypted too?

Why posting thru a top-level anonomyzer? Just an extra insurance policy against frivolous lawsuits over unintended copyright infringements.

As to the board TOR encrypted--- I pledge the 5th ;).
