SP21 redouble "for less"

Apparently there is at least one casino allowing this in the northwest. I'm not sure if it was an erroneous dealer or a casino policy. Anyone done the analysis to how much edge this may provide?

The edge depends on the ratio of the minimum redouble amount to your original bet. The less you can redouble for, the bigger the improvement.

OK, but the improvement in edge still depends on your original bet. If you are betting $10 and can re-double for $5, then the improvement to your edge is much less than if you bet $100 and can re-double for $5. I'm not trying to be difficult, but even for playing the correct adjusted basic strategy, the answer depends on your average bet.

Of course. I'm not in that area often, so I won't be playing it, but I'm curious what the edge is for various bet levels, if that calculation has been done.

That's where I can perhaps help you. Give me the bet levels you're interested in, including the minimum double for less amount, and the exact rules and conditions of the game and I can generate the proper strategy and the house edge for each.

Thanks. My interest is more curiosity, since I doubt I will have the opportunity to play it. If you want to do the academic exercise, have at it of course. But if there are folks here in the area who want to play it, speak up!

(But from what I could find out it's fairly standard "northwestern" SP21 with H17/redouble/rescue)
