Deck Estimation Crossover point

Due to another thread in this forum i am drilling the discrd tray.

At what point does it seem senisble to crossover to the next decks remaining value down - half way through each deck? (this is only for 4 and 6 decks games)

e.g. 6 deck shoe.

First few cards dealt = 6 decks remaining

After half of the deck has been dealt then switch to 5 and so on as the shoe progresses?

I believe that most people round deck estimates, as you have done. You example is correct for full deck estimates. Some attempt 1/2 deck and even 1/4 deck estimates. In those cases they would round to the nearest 1/2 or 1/4 deck respectively.
