How to tell if a shoe is gaffed

#5
Granted I have only been at this schtick for 6 years and suffered my fair share of bad beats but in this time have never seen, heard, nor experienced any "legit" illegal activity on the part of any casino. The one and only time I suspected a legitimate problem was perpetrated by a Pit critter and a dealer and I don't hold the actual store to blame. I sincerely doubt that they would put their fishing, I mean "gaming " license on the E. Side of Vegas in jeopardy simply to beat me out of $600. DON S., in your extensive history have you confirmed any??? IIMA.

The above responses are about gaffing the CARDS ...
As for a gaffed SHOE, I only know of one type, uses prism light-bending to allow peeking and seconds ...

Correct ... most all casino-side cheating at the table is dealer/accomplice...
... the accomplice gets the wins and and other players take bigger losses to offset the appearance.
... and the shift manager runs interference.

The dealer can also wear a "shiner" in order to peak at the card. Middle finger e.g., would pop the front card up just enough to reflect the value in the corner to a trained eye. A shiner could be a gold ring with a polished flat surface... you'd be surprised how well it works to someone how has mastered the technique.
